Let me guess, you used to do bench only and you squat to parallel?

Either that or your just proportioned that way. Btw if you squat to parallel, don't. Just incase you do...going all the way down is where it is at.
yeah i just used to bench cause i had a growth related leg injury last year  and ive only started doing deadlifts this week, oh btw i squat to jus below paralell thats bout as far as my body will let me

ohhhhhhhh man....are you insane? You'll destroy your knees!!! Doing a squat like that isn't doing it improperly and you are risking serious injury. Think about how much stress you put on your knees stopping halfway!

Maybe you've been lucky...but i for one am not going to risk doing it like that and looking like a fool in the gym doing half reps. Now imagine if you squated correctly how much more you would have grown. You are wrong sir, and your advice will get someone hurt. Telling people its okay to half rep things is retarded in every shape and form. And btw you don't squat 600...
Let me clarify. I did a "full" squat but I did not subscribe to the "ass to the grass" philosophy which is what many people seem to consider the only true type or "full" squat. I believe squatting to parralel is fine.

Don't tell me that I didn't grow. I did. I'm a very experienced lifter and probably know all sorts of things you have no idea exist. My quads (and rest of my legs except calves) grew so fast that I literally had to stop doing legs for 3 months because I didn't want permanent stretch marks on my legs. The stretch marks were so bad I looked like a bengal tiger down there.

Yes, I could squat 600 pounds.

Finally, if I was such an idiot about it how come every single day I had personal trainers coming up to me to tell me how impressed they were with what I was lifting? Granted, not all personal trainers know what they are doing but most have a good grasp on personal fitness and I doubt they would compliment someone who is clearly doing something incorrectly or dangerously.

The point I was making in my original post was this: there is no "RIGHT" way to do things. There is the way that works for you, and that is all that matters.

Is there a way to estimate a 1 rep max from a set? I don't have anyone to spot me so I never max out, but I can do 235 x 8.

I'd reckon 290-310, depends on your fibre makeup.

Neither of them have big legs and/or squat that much weight, so don't worry too much about it. BTW 272 kgs? No offense but I'm very skeptical of that number. That's probably more than Jay Cutler can squat. So you must have competed in powerlifting comps?
