If I were you, I'd save up to replace the foosball table with a pool table. Red Velvet surface. The ultimate pimp accessory. Great for sex too, but don't stain the velvet.
Originally posted by jakethasnake Dude, screw all those little knick-knacks. That's for college frat boys. The key points of a great bachelor pad are the living room/lounge and the bedroom.
-- Now, the bachelor pad for the more refined young gentleman --
The four basics of a pimped bachelor pad lounge are:
1) Leather couch.
Black or dark brown is ideal, but depending on your personality and aura, you can get away with unconventional colors such as white or burgundy.
2) Glass Coffee table.
It can be either wooden framed for a classic, "substantial" look, a la the Goddfather, or minimalist/metal frame for a modern, crisp, hip look. Take your pick.
3) A superior Visual Audio system.
This goes without saying. Invest in a large, flat screen TV, a DVD player, and some good speakers. Here a SLENDER, ELEGANT aesthetic is key. No 50-pound, bulky speakers or TVs.
4) The "Garnish"
This should be the centerpiece of your lounge. Or it could be less pretentious, and off to the side. But ALWAYS noticeable. It could be a mysterious abstarct painting (ALWAYS mounted and framed, of course ), or a sculpture. It's a bonus if you've made it yourself, but either way, it must always be a topic for discussion.
Now, the bedroom.
1) Sheets.
Always of a luxurious fabric. In the winter, satin/dark colors like blood red. Red of any shade is sensual, sometimes sexual. It is also passionate. In the summer, a cool, refreshing cotton in a neutral/pastel color is good. Soft, large pillows are a good idea too.
2) A *large*, firm bed.
For "excercise". Doctor's orders.
3) A marble topped side table.
It says "luxury" and "elegance" like no other.
4) Lighting that can be adjusted in intensity.
I wonder why.... hmmm.
THAT'S IT. Leave the Playboys in your frathouse when you graduate and leave.
Ohh sh*t man that's nice, is your crib really like that?
I'm still in High School, but sometimes i think about how i want my appartment to be when i grad college, and i always picture that stuff.
1) Living Room - Black leather sofa, with the big screen TV right across it. Hooked up with a nice system. Glass table in the center of the room, and on the corners a glass entertainment center.
2) Bathroom - just keep it clean and have some nice towells, get all that good stuff (shaving cream, after shave, lotions, soaps, spare toothbrush, mouthwash..)
the rest is all basic, most of the people here said it all
Strip chess is GREAT fun. (Plus it makes you look smart )
I am good at chess, I could have a girl down to her panties in 5 mins
Also I am an 3d artist and animator, so I would get my artwork printed and framed as an art print, telling a girl about each piece I designed and what inspired me would be a good one...
Books : Classic novels (Huxley, Dostoyevsky, ****ens etc), make them look like they have actually been read as well
Artbooks : Leave these on your coffee table, good artists like Monet, Cezanne, Picasso etc but also some less known ones.
Just another idea.... I collect license plates. I go offroading a lot and I find a lot of different, new and old plates from different states (even countries!). I have a wall in my room set aside for them. It makes for good conversation and the girls find it original and interesting.
