Or you'll end up a pathetic, shadow of the man you could be.
Second Place is not First Place.

That, in a nut shell, is why the world hates Americans.

Yeah, I know, you're pretty much all from the great U.S. of A., but you all know that the rest of the world dislikes you.

Ok, lets flip back a second.
Why do I think this? Well, it's the stereotypical portrait of American life broadcast to the rest of us by film.

"How come we don't even talk no more, and you don't even call no more? We don't barely keep in touch at all, and I don't even feel the same love when we hug no more..."

Yes, it's that portrayal of a world of extremes. You win or you lose, there's only one number one place. And if you're not number one you want to be. Look at us. "You should be the most popular guy in high school", "You should be number one". How come? You want to be the most popular? The only people that say, that utter, that cough out the immortal words,

I want to be the most popular guy in highschool

...are the shy, sad, viciously unhappy and bitter individuals in this world. It's that classic "grass always greener" situation.

"I want to be popular, attractive, and have a harem of women", but they don't really understand what that is... all the common-o-garden AFC knows is that life sucks, and the pill that makes it better is to be this other guy.

But this is just plain wrong. It's like trying to crawl into a suit that doesn't fit. ****! You don't act ****y and funny to girls because you want to show them you aren't interested in them so that they become interested in you BECAUSE THAT MEANS YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THEM! It's this insane, macabre, twisted "pulling for dummies" vomit that I can't stand!

I see it here, and I see it at that other seduction site. ****- "kiss here on the hand when you first meet her, that'll really impress her!", "act cool and distant, because girls like what they can't have, and you'll seem unatainable". People congratualting this way of thinking- "it's so refreshing to see a group of people who really want to get laid!" OH FOR ****'S SAKE!

Newbies are showered in techniques, moves, concepts- fake it untill you get it! I remember that nugget of brilliance...

I know not all Americans are like that, infact I bet hardly any of you are. However, it is this "Cowboy" attitude that exists that angers me. What was Bush's new slogan? "Vote Bush! The Cowboy Way!" It's exactly this! I'm sorry to pick on America, it is actually a good country compared to some of the genoside smeared hell holes that pocket this world, but this "Cowboy" attitude is just perfect for illustrating my point.

It's all down to you, but not in the cowboy "if **** goes wrong it's your fault" way. I need to have a bit of a think about this, so I can commit it to words concisely, but we all have to remember that while we are getting more confident, while we are getting better looking, while we are getting ourselves out of our relative ****-holes of positions, we don't need to do or be the best. We don't need to become a player, or a genius, or a leader.

You don't get life if you try to play the system. If the system says girls find guys who don't act like doormats to them attractive, it doesn't mean you should act like you don't care about girls that much in order to get them, it means you plain outright SHOULDN'T GIVE A ****!
Sounds simple?
When you don't act interested in a girl, why do you do it?

I know some of you will be there, and I'm not asking for you to jump up and say that you're so clever. I think this is one of the biggest problems you come across when your Don-Something, but not quite Juan yet. When your Bueno, but not that Bueno.

It's the realisation that girls find the less attainable guys more attractive, the realisation that Second place can well be better than First, and honestly, in your heart, know that you're not just thinking that to try and get your mindset right to get the girl or first place.

It's the leap of faith where you stop thinking about ways to get a guy who "isn't a natural" like yourself some ass, but accept that you can get ass because of you, not some tricks on a site.

You raised some interesting points in this somewhat unstructured post! Some I agree to some not so:

1. Why the world hates America: the majority of misinformed americans believe that the world hates them from jealousy, that they are all envious of what america has. That in my opinion is only for a very small minority, the reason I think this hatred exists (having lived in the US, UK, Europe etc) is because of that very mentality; the arrogance of believing you have something everyone else wants. I won't go too far on this point, I'll just say not many Americans travel abroad or care for foreign policies - that pretty much sums it up.

2. The striving to be number 1 and nothing else: Cloud, this is one of the things I love about the US and something we in the UK don't have: the desire the drive the dedication to BE NUMBER 1 and never be happy with 2nd place. It's why most countries beat us in all the sports we invent (cricket, football, tennis, golf etc etc). We're taught to be happy with what we have as Brits. Sometimes it's ok because it makes ppl more genuine and honest, but it doesn't produce winners and it sure doesnt make AFCs into DJs.

3. The difference between acting and being : I totally agree, for a while when i started i was putting on an act as a DJ 24/7 which was and is totally wrong and counter-productive. Be men not 'DJs' is my idea now.

Note: The Majority of Americans did not vote for Bush in 2000. We have an outdated system of "Electoral College" where basically, instead of the President being elected by the majority, it has to be complicated. The votes are counted in each state, and each state casts its vote depending on who the majority of its residents voted for. However, different states get different amounts of votes in the electoral college vote; one state gets 25 while another gets 2. There are two hundred- some votes total in the electoral college. This system was created because back in the day, before mass communication was invented, citizens that lived in states that recieved less information were therefore politically less educated, so their states had less votes.

So in a nutshell, our system sucks, about half of America hates Bush, and yet he is President. And yes, there are plenty of cowboys out there who will vote for Bush because of this image.

On another topic, nice post. I have come to the conclusion that we had everything it takes to be an alpha male all along, we simply have to trust our instincts.

I''m sorry but I have to comment on this post. Bush DID win popular vote. I remember watching CNN and more states were shaded red (Bush) than in blue (Gore).

Also, your reasoning as to why the electoral college was created is rediculus. Back in the day, there were two different ways as to how elections should be decided. One: do it by population per area (House of Representatives); two: have an equal representation for each state regardless of population (Senate). In order for one way to be official, 9/13 colonies had to ratify the proposition. The population thing was shot down by all of the South (which leads to the 3/5ths Compromise with southerners), leaving a possible 8/13 vote if all the North agreed on it. The equal representation idea was shot down by heavily populated coloines because they felt they would be poorly represented. Eventually the debate was settled and now both ways are taken into consideration when electing a president.

Just because Bush had more states doesn't mean anything. STates do NOT have the same population densities, so Bush could have won many states that had low populations while Gore had a few large states. E.G. California doesn't have the same # of people as Colorado.

People "hate" America at least in other Western countries isn't because of jealousy.

I can tell you one viewpoint.

It's the damn arrogance.
(not that I'm exaggerating a bit)
Yeah, those big words. Freedom for example.
How you think you are free when you have to have id's in schools and have to walk thru metal detectors...

Everlasting patriotism that's everywhere. Kinda same as the "cowboy" -attitude.
It usually looks to other people just plain dumb!

I see many rediculous points in America, it's point of views and the people.
Too many fail to see the USA's inner problems that should be fixed first before going to solve problems of other countries..

Nobody is jealous to that foolishness.
Sorry if I might sound arrogant, but your propaganda is confusing the most of your people.
I'm really glad that some people see who Bush really is...
And I hope someone little bit brighter will replace him.

I could give more viewpoints and get better explanations and examples but I have to go to school. ;)

afk is right, gore had a few votes more than bush. anyway i don't think the world hates you because of jealousy. i live in italy and everyone who's jealous of you, just admire you and doesn't hate you at all. usa-haters developed their mentality after the 2WW, when your politicians stopped mindin' their own business and began attackin' other countries, like chile, korea, vietnam (remember 68?)... there was a "pause" when europeans didn't hate you anymore, in the '80s, but then, with the gulf war, it all began again and now with iraq affaire, you are totally ****ed up:p

This is exactly what I'm talking about! This is striving to win for the sake of winning! For the pathetic sake of saying "na na na I'm better than you!". I'm making the distinction between doing well at something you love and understand for the sake of what you want, and the desire to win because if you don't you think you've lost.

I guess it's partially a distinction between judging yourself by other people's standards and judging yourself by your own. My opinion is that we should try and be good at what we do, if you swim, swim as well as you can, but never think that you are better than other people. You don't swim faster to beat other people, to be the best, you swim faster to better yourself.

I also think there is a lot about how people percieve success in this problem too. If you act in a certain way because that's how you feel, yet do not pull at a bar, to me you have had more success than a man who acts in a certain way to get girls, even if he does pull.

It may sound like I'm saying self improvement, this whole site is a load of bull. Nothing could be futher from the truth. I'm saying that we must all remember that we don't neg hit girls, we talk to them. And not because that will get us laid, but because that's what we do.

Didn't mean to suggest I dislike Americans more than I dislike the French by the way :D j/k.

Now id love to argue politics but theres no point spreading strife on this forum. Suffice it to say that the Supreme Court legally gave Bush the President's job.

I kind of agree with Cloud about how it is about competing to be the best that you can be and not to beat others. But i am also of Nietzshes opinion that u should always strive to be the best that you can and if that involves being first then be first.

I'm sorry, but I love being in America- its the land of opportunity.

I have a friend that lives in the UK, and she absolutely hates it there, and she wants so much to move here.

I am an extreme nationalist, I believe that everyone envys America b/c we are the best. You all just wanna be like us, but you dont admit it, so you hate us.

Honestly, America is a great place to live, with plenty of great things to offer. Sure our electoral system sux, and I dont like either the Democrats or Republicans 4 this election.
I learn to live w/ it though, it's not like my voice is gonna do n e thing.

Get over it, and stop knocking America and the people from America, b/c we are better than you, and have more "freedom"

Hey Cloud Uk iam no cowboy and my life doesnt revolve around becoming popular and getting chicks. My life rvolves around running and achieving world-class status. Getting chicks and being popular is just an addition to my life and that comes along with becoming great at anything and actually having a life.

yeah I agree quite alot. I see alot of people reading the dj bible going on other websites learning more techniques, memorizing material when its just gonna make getting girls more complicated. I'm not saying this doesn't work because I know it does but I prefer to just be natural about it. I never read the DJ Bible or anything because I couldn't be bothered to memorize all this material, what to do etc. I think I read about 4 really good posts on here and 5 posts on some other website and it all just clicked together when I went out for 5+ hours a day to make myself more confident.
Whats one of the first things you learn when you go on to these websites? Its "don't give a ****" this is one of the hardest things to do and I haven't completely done it yet. But you cannot learn all this material while not giving a **** its impossible. If you act disinterested to get her interested then you are giving a ****. Just had to say this it might not make any sence:D and I do realise that learning all these negs, routines, C+F does work for most people but it doesn't appeal to me. I hope I haven't confused you either:) . Have fun everyone.

The problem with our world is the fact that most people are unwilling to look past the borders of a country and see things for what they really are. All we are is a single species inhabiting our planet, and the fact that we have countries is complete bullsh!t. Nationalism and the belief that some are better than others is completely ignorant and wrong, because in the end, we all are born, eat, crap, have sex, and die. The only borders and nationalities that exist are in our minds.

I know I must sound like a hippy, but if everyone thought like this, the world would be a much better place.
