"You are a nerd" whats this all about?

There is this girl from my class who showed some interest in me past few days and started conversations with me, I never talked to her before so it was an initiation. She also kinoed me so I know she has a bit interest. Let's call her "x".

So several days ago I was having a consersation with x and her group of friends. A friend of x went in the group and annoyingly pissed me off!!! Let's call her "y". I was at the same school as y 2 years ago in grade 7 and I was at that time a huge nerd and AFC.

"y" is also a nerd and she always wanted to beat me in academics. In grade 8 I went to another school so she didnt know that I changed myself. Now, grade 9, she goes to the same high school I do and she obviously still think I am an AFC.

In our conversation, "y" talked about my "glorious past" and I was a "liar", blah blah blah (in front of x and her friends). I didn't get upset with her and ignored her. The conversation between me, x, and x's friends went pretty well and I was joking around with them.

Suddenly, x calls me a nerd out of nowhere. I was shocked because I know that I do not act like a geek or nerd and I do have a decent value. So I smiled and didn't act upset.

Stupid c*ckblockers from my AFC days get to me these days and I don't know how to deal with them. Why did x say I am a nerd, is this a sh*t test? How do I correctly deal with y? Was ignoring x's comment about me being a nerd the correct thing to do, or defending myself in that situation the right thing to do?

Well, you are asian man..... I'm half so i know what it's like. Everyone believes in the stereotype and therefore wants to compete with you and make fun of you. Don't let her get to you, instead when your talking to "x" use an opener that applies to all of her friends so they don't c0ckblock you. Don't deny not being an AFC at one point; that's part of your past, and you have to live with it. As long as you act like a real DJ "y" will eventually see the change. I honestly think the "y" liked you during your afc days and is jealous of "x" because your showing interest in her. On response to the whole "nerd" thing say something witty. Was x calling you a nerd in a bad way or complementing you/playing with you? If it's a complement you shouldn't really care.

Start flirting with Y, and all of X's other friends. Throw a monkey wrench into the plan, because its obvious there is some conspiring going on, or at least, misinformation.

And there is nothing wrong with nerds. Most of the morons that make fun of nerds, will end up working for them. I was a nerd, and still am, but that doesn't make me any less of man. Be true to yourself man, don't let the social group (read: The Matrix) let you think that you should fit into a group. But I digress...

High school shouldn't be taken too seriously. Don't even dignify disrespect with any attention or response, that is the absolute worst thing you can do, because it shows who has the power. Instead, if some one calls you a nerd, try something like:
Female -"Ya, you're a NERD!"
You - [Smile] "I'd rather be a nerd, than a simpleton who doesn't have the cognitive competence to think his way out of an algebra class. So thanks for the compliment X, glad to know you hold such esteem for me." And as George Costanza always tried, leave on the high note. That means, end the conversation, and go do something else.

But remember, if things aren't panning out as you like, walk away.

I was called a nerd by the one girl that I liked. I just looked at her and said, "Hey, please stop hitting on me. We all know that nerds do it best.

It effectively destroyed that conversation before it began to become bad.

Its pretty simple really, you just gotta show em you're a dj now. lol. just be confident in yourself and man up and you won't even notice **** like that. I used to be a huge nerd, but i picked it up in like 9th grade and have done a total 180. I was gaming a girl i had known for a while the other day but would never have approached and now we're supposed to party in the very near future. She was like wow, you've totally changed. lol. If you just show'em whats up they won't even say anything. Na mean?
