ok im just gonna get to the bottom of this. i like this girl i recently met. shes been giving me a ton of IOIs and has been going out of her way to communicate with me, asking me how my day was, putting !'s everytime she said hey or hi. asking about me, you get the picture. anyway we were talking and shes like "my boyfriend and i went to this concert...blah blah blah" Luckily it was online. but im confused.

i always thought that it was like a dont ask dont tell thing with girls, especially if you suspected there was a guy she was with. this chick is 2 years younger than me, and apparently her "friend" is her same age. im still going to pursue her, i already got her number, which i asked for after she metnioned him. lets say that they broke up, would she still refer to him as her bf or her ex? why would she tell me this? is this just another s**t test to see if im gonna still pursue her?

She has a boyfriend. Therefore, I wouldn't be too concerned about her. I'd still game her, but stop worrying about what she's thinking, whether or not she's interested, etc. Focus on other girls.

keep a good relationship but don't really do anything except stay in contact and such. then when she breaks up you can start escalating
unless you feel like _really_ pursuing her but since she is 2 years younger doesn't seem like you have that much attraction?

I don't know who told me this, but it explains why she's acting like she is:

"Girls are like monkeys, they won't let go of one branch until they've got ahold of another branch"

or

"When a guy quits a job he usually takes a little time off to enjoy himself. Chicks won't quit their job until they have another lined up"

Girls, especially HS girls, tend to jump from one relationship straight into another. She's just waiting for you to prove you can handle the work-load before she quits her current job. When she mentions the BF she's just trying to throw you off your game, you're being evaluated on your reaction. Don't let her make you stumble. Being sh%t tested is a good sign, she wouldn't test you if she didn't consider you potential mate material.
