This chick from POF that I talked to on the site last night hit me up this evening. The convo had a good vibe and we were laughing. All of a sudden, I hear a beep on my phone and it was my mother on the other line. I told Adrianna (the pof chick) to hold on for a min. I talked to my mother and she was talking so much that I tried my best to end it quickly. When I finished my convo with my mom, I noticed the chick hung up. I can understand when she was being placed on hold for 3 mins. I felt bad. Decided to call back, no answer... I called again about 15 mins later, no answer. Then I heard her voice mail and it says "Hey this is NICOLE...." I'm like wtf did I just hear??? Anyway, I only called twice and no phone call back. What should I do in this situation? End it or make contact again? I'm leaning towards ending it until I get a call or text back.

There was no need to call twice...you could have just called back and left a message that said "hey it's -your name- sorry it was my mom on the other line and she likes to talk. Call me back when you get this, my number is -"

Then she could decide whether or not to call you back.

She already knows my number. She's the one who called me first. Why should I leave a voicemail when seeing my name on her phone should be good enough?

Because that is basic human interaction with a telephone. You call someone, they do not answer, you leave a message to explain why you are calling and request a phone call back. You don't have to leave your number, because she called you but you can at least leave a message.

example: Let's say you called a doctor's office to make an appointment...and the receptionist is on the other line so you get the voicemail. Do you hang up? Or do you leave a message? If you want the person to call you back you leave a message, you don't spam call.

^^^ Both responses above are fine. There would have been no harm in leaving a message, but she knew it was you calling back. If she gets butt-hurt over a small thing like this, consider this early warning a blessing.

Life happens. Sorry if another call temporarily put the little princess on hold.

It's just a rule of thumb I have (developed through bitter experience), but the girls who initiated voice calls before a face to face meet-up all proved to be more trouble than they were worth. It just seems to go hand in hand with an intense, neurotic, and needy personality - it presumes a level of intimacy that just doesn't exist at that point.

I remember at least one of them was exactly as foreverAFC described, i.e. "a fat/ugly chick using a cute chicks photos in order to get off while talking to guys on the phone" I cannot believe I actually let that happen, seven years ago mind you.
