Well,I gotta agree I don't think they specifially like violence. They like to see displays of courage and that's what Sart did last night.

It's a myth that the "thug" get all the girls.It's sympish behavior and those guys themselves came up with that sh1t. Really,the only guys who act like that who get women already have game.If your a true-blue cave-man and have zero-skills your prolly gonna repell them if anything.

Straight-up,I say it's a "myth" and self-destructive women make it seem like fact when in reality those types will fall for any poor slob who comes correct.


They say "power" gets women but it's the power that associated with money & status.The power than can give them something.

The jokes on them, bullies show lack of esteem, empathy and control. They do this by trying to get control.

Next time don't hit hard bits with hard bits you'll break your hand.

Alpine made a very important point. I don't know about other countries, but in the states, if you fight someone, there is a very very good chance they brought friends. In addition to those friends, each has some type of weapon on them or outside in their cars. So when someone has got the balls to talk **** to your face, it's usually because they got the man power and weaponry to back up their decision. I'd be very careful and try to bring some friends with you when you do go to clubs.

No, I haven't been back yet but am going next Saturday to catch up with Janine and have a few drinks. I see everyones point here about the possible repurcusions but I side with the blokes who say, well done. Australia is one of the most likely countries to be assaulted in but one of the least likely to be severly hurt or killed in. Not many dudes carry a weapon in OZ, not yet at least. There is also a strong code of conduct in Australia regarding fights. It is very rare for two guys two pounce one, you usually call for a fair fight.

Im not too scared about meeting him again anyway, even if he did beat me its just skin on skin and I wont start anything.

I simply enjoyed the reaction of the chicks, it was worth the throbbing hand just for that alone. Its still swollen but a lot better today.

Anyway, I doubt he'll come back for more, I think he'll let it go and just go somplace else. He was American but I assume he is living here so he is more likely to be living within our social beliefs. It would be considered absolutely unforgivable if he came again with his friends to give me a flogging.

I was there with a friend as well, he was not there for the action but he was at the club. Yeah, I will be cautious but I'm fukced if I can let fear keep me from going wherever I want to go. Most of you OBVIOUSLY completely agree with me on this one.

I have no idea what it is like in the States, I never had any trouble there.

Hey Sart I just noticed you're Australian? How often you see black Americans? I've never seen a black guy from America in my life down under, most blacks in Australia are aborigine or islander.


By the way not sure which part of Australia you are from, but down in Melbourne there was this guy who got into a fight. Unfortunately he didn't count on a bunch of guys showing up with machetes, and he got sliced and diced like fruit salad in a processor. I think about 4-5 people got killed?

The irony is, they were fighting over a woman! If it was over money or family feud I could understand, but a woman! Sometimes I can never understand men!

Sydney. No, I didn't hear about that at all, when was that? The chances of having a gang of thugs with machettes sounds like a district/suburb thing like Cabramatta here. As for African American and white American dudes, well, I dunno the stats but they are pretty well everywhere, they have holidays and immigrate etc. Sometimes you get the Navy boys, not sure. I don't know if he was on hols or lives here, don't really care, doesn't really matter.

I really wish I had omitted the fact he was African and just said American, I don't like the whole race undertone. As I said the main point is that women actually get turned on by it in some way, I was surprised.

Anyway, I visit Melbourne a fair bit and the numbers are the same whether it be Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, perhaps just not on your street but definitely at the clubs in Melbourne. As for fighting over a woman.......couldn't agree with you more dude. It does sound like a suburban issue but. I wouldn't go near the Asian quarter here even in braod daylight, you probably have heard of the gangs here. In Sydney City and the Eastern and Northern suburbs you are pretty safe. Lets face it, we dont have that many deaths from violence in this country, we get beat up, but we dont kill each other as a general rule.

This guy had been causing problems all night apparently so they evicted him and said I could stay.

I swear that nearly evey chik there became interested. I got 4 phone numbers and about 8 admiring conversations.

Agression lads, aggression seems to be one of the keys. Mind you, my pinky finger is swollen to the size of my thumb.

Ah Sydney, explains it. Melbourne doesn't get a lot of American tourists or naval officers.

It was a while ago, when I was in high school. Happened at the Salt nightclub.

Yeah it was Asians, mostly Cambodians I think. The gangs situation isn't too bad in Melbourne, its mostly posing (hell, I used to be in one of the Asian "gangs", all we did was get into scuffles outside arcades), but sometimes people get drunk and decide to act out their threats.

Funny, theres always fights between Australians and Americans, specially with US naval troops. You Americans, always picking fights!

glad it worked out for ya, but I've seen so much sneaky underhanded sh*t go down at bars and clubs, it just ain't worth it. Keep your eyes open.

A friend of mine was confronted by a guy in the parking lot who was pissed off over a girl my friend had picked up. A fight started, both guys were thick muscular guys, but my friend was winning the fight. Two other friends were there watching my friend with glee as it looked like it would be over shortly.

Some other dude with a baseball bat came from behind and took out the 2 friends who were watching, then came up behind my friend and smashed him over the head with a baseball bat. Game over.

Another friend got shot through the chest from the side by a second guy while he was busy confronting another guy from the front in a parking lot.

Another guy who thought he was in a fist fight, got his throat sliced and bled to death before help could arrive.

Moral to the story... avoid fights whenever possible, but if no other way out, play for keeps.

That's exactly what I'm trying to get at: these people (esp. women) who seem to think of fighting as just two guys duking it out are fools. People who talk about fighting "honourably" or whatever are just being dumb.

It's all fun and games for these chicks (and dumb males) until someone shows up with a baseball bat, or a gun. Then, when reality has arrived and people realize that violence can get you dead, all of a sudden it's not so fun anymore.

For the love of god, don't use violence to impress a woman. Use it if HAVE to and protect yourself, like the original poster did.

1. I didn't suggest people get into fights, I said "wow, violence seems sexy" or words to that effect.
2. The chances of being shot in Australia or smacked with a baseball bat in a trendy Sydney nightclub are almost "nil". I have no idea about the States.

Most of all I don't agree with any theme that says avoid vilence at all costs. Use your brain obviously but when possible defend yourself. To be honest it isn't strutting or posing anyway, its a natural reflex. We have about 40? murders a year in Australia and they are mainly some pervert killing kids or gangs in very specific areas but mainly family members.

Australia fairly well adheres to the "fair go" principle still, the fair fight etc. I have no idea what Id do if I lived in the States.

Here in the UK it has gradually got worse and worse, getting like the states (or parts of). This weekend in Bristol 3 people were shot. I think one's dead and the other two seriously injured.

I wouldn't be suprised if Oz goes the same way, Shortimer is right, you can't assume Queensbury rules anymore.

I'd even ASSUME someone has a weapon if they were gunning for me. Don't get paranoid but you have to wise up, the world is a changen.
