Would you move out next week for 199 and pay 800, or wait until August and pay 199?

Basic quick dilemma...my old housemates ran me off basically so I fought with the landlord to get some rent money back, and in the mean time I moved back home with my mom while I did some apartment hunting. Found one, applied for it, and their soonest available is 7/15. I want to move so bad but they have a current 199 total paid move in special where you just pay 199 and it covers the admin fees, processing fees, no deposit(with applicable credit), and it also covers rent for the month. However you miss out big because if you move in in the middle of the month well you owe the full amount of rent right on that next month. They won't prorate you or anything. I'd love to save 600 bucks on rent for the full month of August but ****...living with my mom til 8/1 is going.to.draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

Thoughts?

You are obligated to pay the full rent to your landlord regardless of what your roommates do, assuming you have your name on the rental agreement.

As far as the moving in thing, if there's that kind of promotion going on in your area, you may be able to find another one similar to it because landlords compete with each other for tenants.

I wouldn't even be paying rent, I would be paying a mortgage on a 60,000 dollar house if I was you.

No joke. Show me a house worth 60K in a decent neighborhood that is not dilapidated and i'll buy you a classy escort for no strings attached sex with the rest of my money after buying said house.

You would be surprise how many good deals you would find outside of the city, so get that escort ready, tell her to get some baby oil on the way to my crib also.

Link? I've looked here and there and the only thing you can get for 60-80K in a decent neighborhood roughly 30 miles from a major/mid size metro is a condo and that doesn't even consider HOA fees. You can buy ****holes for like 20K, but then you need to put 100K into it just to make it livable.

I got my money back, I basically just fear mongered a little with things like small claims court, the fact that I didn't actually sign anything and it was only a verbal agreement(in court it would just be words against words)etc. I mean I had gotten my money back before I made the post, so I probably should've re-worded it. At this point right now in my life I'm not really ready to take on the responsibility of a full blown mortgage, property taxes, home owner's insurances, appliances, so on and so forth. And yes I agree, at a minimum down here in SE texas most of the only houses worth living in start at around 95k if you're lucky. I would rather pay off my car first while living alone and cut that out of my monthly expenses because it's 320 a month.(no down payment)

They're out there dude, you just need to find them. A house is only "worth" what a buyer is willing to pay for and what a seller is willing to sell for. You can find an owner that wants out of a bad situation and pick up a house in a nice neighborhood for $60k.

You realize everything in the world is only worth what people are willing to pay for anything? That's why there's something called a value proposition inherent to every product/good/asset.

exactly, dude doesn't know this is the best time to get houses. Also if you find condos without HOA fees then dude your in heaven, because those are freaking rare.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
