A 30-35 year old woman who barely got any attention in 1990 isn't real now. Back then, if a woman found herself 30-35 years old and single, she would have to work it hard in real life to make something happen. Now, if a 30-35 year old woman finds herself single AND is having trouble getting attention in real life, she just puts herself out on a swipe app. She might not even need to do that. She can be slightly more active on Instagram or LinkedIn and watch her date offers pile up. Most women don't ever accept their LinkedIn date offers because any guy resorting to LinkedIn to make date offers is pretty pathetic, but Instagram date offers don't have the same stigma as LinkedIn ones.

In many cases, an Engineer will still have subpar social skills. Game is some combination of looks, money, status, persona. In this case above, there's an Engineer who might make $120,000-$150,000 per year. Solid salary, not amazing. What's an Engineer with average looks and subpar social skills going to get on the open market? At best, a childless 30-40 year old woman who is seeking a provider type male after having fun with top tier men and not getting committment from them.
