i'm partially an insomniac. most of my life i have been an insomniac. Some days of the week i dont get much sleep cause i have trouble sleeping, and some days i do get enough sleep.

usually the days where i dont get enough sleep, i usually dont have much energy to do stuff.

I've tried working out a few times in the past when i didnt get enough sleep hte night before and it was a bad idea. as i lacked energy to do sufficient reps. and it felt like i was straining myself.

What are your thoughts on this? not to work out and mess up the workout schedule of hitting the gym 3x a week?

It supposedly helps you sleep better but I never noticed any difference.

If you feel like you can workout without much sleep than do it. If you don't feel that energetic, don't.

ZMA is absolutly crap. A big fucking scam perpetuated by the supplement industry.

Obviously, the first solution is to get your sleeping problem fixed. It will drain you until you can't take it anymore. Seek help!

While doing so, I suggest only working out when you have energy to do so. If you work out and don't get enough rest, you will just overtrain and make it worse. Go with short, intense workouts consisting of only compound movements, then get your ass out before you get tired.

Try an ECA stack before working out for a bit of a boost.

wtf is that?

i thought so...working out without enough sleep is just going to damage myself. bah my workout will be ****ed .

even if i do seek help and go to a clinic, the best they could porbably do is prescribe sleeping pills for me. and i dont plan on relying on **** like that for the rest of my life.

They won't prescribe you pills at first, they will find the root cause. Do you have anxiety? I know thats what caused insomnia for me in the past. Trust me, you will suffer much more if you don't get enough sleep than if you use pills. Lack of sleep = unproductivity, crankiness, etc, ei: shitty life. Get it fixed, stop finding excuses.

ECA stack = Ephedrine+Caffeine+Aspirin

the eca sounds interesting. Is it available at any pharmacy store without prescription?

anxiety? no. i think the problem is somtimes im thinking about stuff. sometimes im not and still cant fall asleep.

lack of sleep for me = sleepy and tired in the morning, and overall lesser energy. I might feel like **** in the morning, but tis a good feeling when i get to school and see ppl, as im too sleepy to give a crap about anyone or worry about anything.

Would you recommend seeing a clinical doctor? how'd u get pass your insomnia?

i drink milk everynight before i sleep, sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesnt. it suppose to as it contains chemicals for your brain...forgot the name.

No. You basically buy aspirin, ephedrine and caffeine pills, try to combine the three without seriously damaging yourself.

If you need to sleep, buy a substance called melatonin.

Melatonin is what your brain produces when you go to sleep; so when you take it about a hour later you get really sleepy.

I used it for a little bit to reset my sleeping cycle (I was going to sleep at 2am) and it works great. Almost exactly an hour after I took it, I got super sleepy.

If you don't get at least 7 hours of sleep when you use it, you will wake up groggy and stay that way for about 30 minutes. Otherwise you wake up super energetic :)

It is non-addictive, but you can build up a resistance to it and a slight dependance if you use it too long; so cycle it.

I found it at my local Whole food. like 5$ a bottle, and I have been using that bottle for years and have yet to finish it.

Man I don't get why all these teenagers hype melatonin. You are under 20, your natural melatonin levels are THROUGH THE ROOF. I'm surprised it even does anything.

I hype it because it worked for me when I used it. I didn't use it for long times, only a week or two at a time. No one hyped it to me, my dad actually suggested it (Who is actually a insomniac)

Interesting... You mean Zinc & Magnesium, don't you?

All I hear is good about it. From this forum too.
Care to elaborate?

If you hear any good about it, its probably placebo 90% of the time.

Think about it. ZMA is nothing more than minerals, as in, ones you find in multi-vitamins and food. Unless you are deficient in them, it will not result in any drug-like effect. Seeking such an effect from vitamins and minerals is stupid - they are meant to function synergistically in optimum amounts. Overloading on zinc, magnesium and aspartate is going to do what? Nothing.

Maybe it's a placebo affect, but I have had better sleep on ZMA. Wether or not I have testosterone gains, I doubt it.

We will see what happens when I am finished my supply.

Nope. It's the only hormone legally for sale OTC and has pretty much no side effects. Its as harmless as you can get.
