Hi.

I'm currently a high school junior, and I'm pretty thin and unfortunately extremely busy. When I'm not busy i'm too tired to work out.

Anyway, is it possible to buff up in college?

Also, what are the weighted jump ropes for? What muscles do they exercise?

Thanks

What makes you think you'll suddenly have more free time in college?

The best thing for you to do is to start an exercise program so you can get used to managing your time and allowing for work-out days/periods.

Also the sooner you start the better off you will become. I kick myself all the time that I haven't started working out sooner. It has to be one of the easiest things you can do to improve your life.

I guarantee if you want to you could find time, and I'm tired is "I'm Lazy" unless you come from a really demanding high school, you will have more time most likely, because you are only in class 3 Hours a day. Personally I go to the gym 4 days a week, 6:30 AM and T,R, and then M,F later on.

it is possible to get stronger and larger in college.

however, with your attitude, forget it.

Gained about 20 lbs of muscle in 6 months.
Its tough though, hard to manage HW Classes and working out.

I know I could have done better in another setting, but I still workout and get stronger day by day.

Use the simple workout plan in the vault + simple diet.

Youll get stronger, guaranteed

Alright guys relax.

Yes, it is possible to work out in college. I like to walk over to the gym after classes. Keep in mind though that if you choose to put yourself through a strenuous extracurricular routine like you have now, you could be in the same situation. It's all about tradeoffs.

You better be getting into a pretty damn impressive school for studying until 2 AM every day in high school, even with APs...public schools in the US aren't exactly rigorous.

Also with the last part of your question, weighted jump ropes are mainly for conditioning, not strength training. If your goal is to get big, strength training is what you want to focus most of your energy on.

actually i did all those things--though i never played violin, i had my own outside commitments.

but did it make you feel better to get that off your chest?

if you can't manage time now it won't be easier in college. i speak from experience. but go ahead and curse and rage at me instead, if it improves your self-esteem.

Go easy Throttle he's just a kid.

Squelchy - understand you're not the only one on a tough academic schedual. It IS possible to workout during college, I'm doing it, and doing honours in applied mathematics one year early with extra subjects isn't exactly easy.I appreciate you're doing your best in high school, it is a good thing to have that sort of commitment to studying.

If you can commit to working out there are plenty of people here (Throttle being one of the most knowledgable) who can help you out. Figure out whether you can commit to it, and if the answer is yes, then stop asking whether it's possible and make a start, find out for yourself.
