working out of your comfort zone?

Usually I try and find girls that I will often be in contact with (they go to my school, church, sports team, etc) but recently I met one that works at a local store and thought she was cute - but I didn't really think about it because I don't see her except for where she works (she doesn't attend my school, we don't have the same friends, etc.) Recently, someone else who works at this store told me that the girl thought I was "cute" and so I played it cool, left my number with this third party, and left. Two hours later the girl texts me (yikes) and we chat, but I end it quick with "we should do something sometime, let me know when you're not working, etc."

I saw her again today and remembered how incredibly shy this girl is. I have a really hard time working with people that hard to talk with. Add this to the fact that I don't see her in any of my familiar social...interactions? (looking for the right word here) and it all leads to me being totally out of my comfort zone and nervous, which I never am. Suggestions?

I know what you mean, you have to be patient with her especially in the beginning so that she trusts you, and so that she can open up to you. Shy girls are usually like that.
