There are some words and phrases I've seen used here that make me want to cringe. So here's my ongoing list of words and phrases that should never pass your lips, ever again.

Feel free to add your own. I'll add more as I see them.

1. "Yummy". Just don't say it, ok? It's what little girls use to describe their candy.

2. "Oh, My, God..(OMG)". Are you gay?? No? THEN DON'T F*CKING SAY THIS.

3. "Super!" As in "That's super cool!" etc. Just, NO.

Those are my top three most hated right now. I'm sure there'll be more.

Top three things I NEVER say:

1. "I don't know"-

Whenever you are asked a question, whether it is about what you are doing on a date or your opinion on any topic, never say "I don't know". It sounds like your uncertain of yourself.

2. "That hurt my feelings" / "she hurt my feelings"

Need I explain. You're a man- talk like a man. That doesn't mean that you have to talk vulgar. It just means to not say "girlie" things.

3. "I wonder what she thinks about me?"

Why? You shouldn't care what she thinks about you. You are who you are and if she doesn't like you then she is not what you're looking for anyway. Move on.

Say "i don't know" one more time and you will get cast into the gorge of eternal peril. ;)

If you don't like "I don't know" then what do you say when you really are uncertain, whether or not it is date related?

snatchdaddy's response: Never say, "I don't know"

If date related and she asks, "where are we going" it should be simple enough for you to decide. It is as simple a decision. Just decide. If you can answer questions like, "What is your favorite color?" then you should be able to answer, "what are we doing on our date tonight?" It is a simple question but most guys say, "I don't know, what do you want to do". Don't do that. She will end up thinking, "This guy can't make a simple decision about what to do for a date, how will he be able to make difficult decisions in life that really matter?"

Any other situation: Never say, "I don't know"

If she asks you, "What do you think about a politician... or the environment... or a certain movie... or my shoes... or a teacher at school... or about ANYTHING" Then have an opinion. If you do not have an opinion then say something that indicates you will make the effort to have an opinion. If you say, "I don't know." then you are indicating to her that you don't use your brain enough to have an opinion and you aren't going to make the effort either. In other words, YOU ARE LAZY. This may or may not be true but it certainly looks lazy to her. If you really don't have an opinion then say something like this: "Well, I have to give it some thought", or "I've never been asked that before. Let's discuss it. What do you think?" Responses like this demonstrate that you are willing to use your brain to make decisions even though you really don't have an opinion right now.

The point is, by saying "I don't know" all the time you are gradually telling her you don't like to use your brain to solve problems which makes you less attractive as a future prospect because to a woman a real man knows how to make decisions.

If you don't know what you think then at least say something that demonstrates you have a brain and know how to use it.

There's no such thing as a word a guy can't use...he just has to be able to pull it off. I say "heavens to betsey" all the time, but because of my cynical attitude, I can pull it off, and have it be ironic, not nerdy. It all depends on people's perception of you.

I love using phrases as that. Lame phrases are my favorites. Spoken with a sarcastic tone ofc...

Here are two of my favorite, they are from Casablanca:

Her: "What did you do last night?"

You: "That's so long ago I can't remember."

Her: "What are you doing tonight?"

You: "I don't make plans that far in advance."

The #1 thing I hate people saying is:

"Are you sure?"

You can't believe how much I hate that line. I get the impression that the people don't believe me, or question me intellectually (when I know I'm 10x smarter than them) and also causes me to explain myself. And personally, I don't give a **** if they believe me or not. No one say this line ever again.

"I'm bored." If you say that during a date, that's not being too smart. If you say it while on the phone, you'll make it seem like you have nothing exciting to do. Avoid that phrase.

Swearing and cussing...keep that to your guy friends. Unless your girl cusses like crazy, don't do it. It gives the wrong impression.

Forget rules and formulas.. it is better if you free your mind with no limitations. Just dont offend anyone.

Another thing is that you dont want to talk out of yoru ass...
(aka BABBLE) we all know a lot of girls do this but guys can be just as bad. Make everything you say be meaningful...

I don't know where I'm coming from
this really could have been a great thread...
Anyway,

Using "gay" or "fag" as insults really needs to end.

The word "like," as in "Like, I was at a, like, party, and this, like, really hot girl was, like, there." "Totally" needs to go as well.

"Uh, um, err, ahh," and anything else that begins a sentence in the same way.

If you don't know what a word means, don't use it, but do find out what it means eventually. "Approximate" doesn't mean exact, it means an estimation, for example.

Here it is, I found it!

How to Subtly Exude Competence by Smooth Vejita
I just realized this great tip the other day when one of my female friends was asked what she saw in me. Her response was, "He's strong and someone I can go to for advice or protection."

To really put off that aura, refrain from saying things that subtly exude incompetence, like saying:

  • I don't know.
  • I'm not sure.
  • I think.
  • I guess.
  • I have no idea.
  • No clue.
Or incompetent body language such as:
  • stuttering.
  • taking a long time to respond to questions.
  • lacking decisiveness.
  • stalling when faced with a decision.
  • looking in other places instead of where your focus should be.
By making just these small changes, you will strengthen the confidence and competence that other people perceive of you.

I agree, cute is a lame word. Just go for it and use "Sexy" to describe it.

I like to use "Sexalicious," that usually gets some good responses :D

Never thought about that one--althought I've shot back--depending on my mood--"no, I just make shyt up as the mood takes me.." and continue on as if what they said had no weight. They think 2x and 3x before using that line again.

Use variations "no, I just pull things outta my @ss and see if you'll bite. So, anyway..."

It leaves them wondering if you really did pull it out, or if it is for real. They won't question you again, though.

This violates the "no cussing" rule above, but that's my issue...
