Although I've done my share of experimentation, I have never done E.

I once dated a girl who had done it a lot but I never saw any problem with her so didn't think it was that big a deal. Had it been Crystal Meth I wouldn't have touched her with a 10 foot pole.

After her feelings for me suddenly changed that didn't seem unusual for a woman. However, when I saw her months later it occurred to me that she had turned into a completely different person. I had to make a list of all the things that were now opposite - and there were 10 major items, right down to her buying a dog when she was always a cat person. She didn't just dump me, but her best friend from high school and her old boyfriend from high school to "date someone who is the complete opposite". She changed career paths and preference for the types of girls she hangs out with. But especially it was her attitude that changed. She had clearly become jaded. It was sad.

This seemed to be a change that couldn't be explained just from her maturing, moving on or losing interest. This seemed like a complete rewiring of the brain like in Manchurian Candidate or Nowhere Man.

Is this what happens to people who do E?

One of my old friends was a friendly enough girl, then she started doing that stuff and turned into a right b'itch. Whether it was due to the drugs or the people she was getting them off I've no idea.

This goes back to the symptom vs cause vs effect. She had to be pretty messed up to be doing drugs in excess in the first place. It's not the drugs that caused it - its her own crazy ass. Chances are, she started associating with other degenerates, and started changing from there. It's not just the drugs, but the whole drug scene that causes people to become bad, violent, stupid, etc. Certainly, drugs do cause problems of their own, but its always the person doing them who is messed up; hence, why they do them. They also get caught up in the wrong people who have their own issues.

It's all around bad. That's why I avoid these people. They get caught right up in the bull**** that surrounds whatever they're doing. Like other crazy ass, miserable people; sluts, criminals, jerks, manipulators, users, etc. Very common in the drug scene. Bars and alcoholics are another big one. Or strippers. Or anything that leads to trouble.

Always avoid what degenerates would be doing; otherwise, you're going to get sucked right in. She's probably jaded because she has no control over her life, or the drugs, and everything went to ****. Probably hates it, but can't stop. The lifestyle is normal, even though it sucks, and everyone is a loser. Etc.

Not your problem to deal with it, anyway. But no, its not the drugs. It's her, and the scene she belongs to. She'll more than likely stick with it - to keep her craziness going. It's all on HER.

My buddy is a bio-pharmacological researcher who's actually done research into MDMA and it's long term effects on neurological processes and neurotransmitters. Lots of research is available out there anyway.

I'm no chemist but the gist seems to be that long term use can lead to permanent seratonin depletion causing depression, psychiatric disorders and cognitive-behavioural changes in some people.

Couple that with any existing psychological issues (BPD, bipolar, depression) and yeah it might explain dramatic changes. But then again sometimes people just change... and many people (including people I know) popped thousands of Es and it did nothing to them.
