Women are easily tempted. Think of the context, Hamlet's mom marries Uncle Claudius only a few weeks after the death of Hamlet of Norway, Sr.

Btw., the Title of your post is just begging for a flamefest...

yes, these are all valid points. I had never looked at it in the sense of the "fault", however i would have to agree. This sheds some light.

Sorry runner, I posted an incomplete version of my post above - here it is in it's totality! Should make things more clearer!

I'm not scared to say it - women are weaker than men, in certain areas, of course!

You can look at fraility in women in more than one way.

1. There is fraility referring to the physical form...meaning weak or fragile, or easily broken or destroyed - not strong. Usually relates to the slight thin physical frame that women possess (generaly speaking) and this trait is less seen in the male physical form. In my area this thin frame is seldom seen!!:(

2. Another way to take a woman's 'fraility is to look at it as a 'fault', especially a weakness in 'resolution' - but not necessarily the case in every situation.

Men are more firm and determined and unwavering in many respects than his female counterpart. This trait has good and bad consequences thay come from it - whether it be to build civilizations or it be to destroy worlds.

Women more than men are considered to have a lack of resolve especially when it comes to the decision making process...men tend to be unwavering, some to the point of being stubborn or rash. Women tend to be associated to more flexibility in their decisions and sometimes to the point of wavering and exhibiting indecision and irresolution.

For example; go shopping for clothes (or a house) with a woman and then go with a man and see the 'resoluteness' in decision making between the two sexes. You'll spend a lot more time with the female than the male. Whether this is good or bad is not the point. It is just the case!

To make it more clear, u must review it from context.

Hamelt is talking to Gertrude, his mother. He calls her weak because she succumbs to desires and reliquishes all she should hold dear- she has an affair with claudius, which leads to the death of the elder Hamlet, her husband. Her acts of infidelity and betrayal are seen by Hamlet as disgusting and weak. Hamlet says that women have not the strength to resist desires and temptations of those things unjust.
