I know a dozen or so of you have been through this: how many times have you asked a woman what a film is about only to have the dunderhead tell you who STARS in the film? She didn't even hear your question, or could be bothered with the CONTENT of the question. I don't care WHO is in the movie, what's it ABOUT? Half the time you get this glazed over look....she doesn't understand why you won't go see a film based solely on who is in it. I mean if a movie stars a guy that she likes, the plot could involve him eating fertilizer for two hours and that's ok by her. But if I tell her I want to see a Kubrick or Frankenheimer flick and try to tell her what its about she/they just glaze over (its even worse when they don't even know who Stanley Kubrick or John Frankenheimer were). I used to think it was funny when I was younger, but once you hit adulthood you expect more from another person your age. And God forbid you throw music in the mix. I have found that most women have very simplistic, processed tastes in music. The lighter the better....everything has to have vocals so that means jazz is out. But if you don't dig her collection Z100 extended dance mixes "you're boring". Well I have news for you honey, the view from here isn't exactly heaven either. So yes, you just move on....and by george you will meet women that actually have a brain and can think in complete sentences without the approval of 50 of their friends. Its just a tough road to travel sometimes!

stop ranting like an angry geek, not everybody has the same passion for movies or music as you. you are actually a minority or what they call a niche market (not mainstream). whether that makes you superior or not is a matter of opinion by the one who's asking.

you're very close minded by saying "if you don't dig her collection z100 extended dance mixes you're boring" because women could easily flip it around to "gee if we dont bloody learn the names of john frankenstein and all the other movie makers or listen to some old fashion jazz music then we have no brain"

if you want a smart woman, find some nerdy girl. if you want the hot girls, don't expect them to recite shakespeare for you

You just gotta accept this fact. The hottest chicks read People Magazine instead of the New Yorker and NEJM. They don't give two sh!ts about politics and refined tastes because they're hot and they try to look like A. Jolie or whoever happens to grace the cover of whatever tabloid. Accept them for who and what they are: hot broads that have fun whose idea of deep thinking is what to wear in the evening.

I don't want to call them unintelligent because intelligence is a hard quality to measure, but most hot girls focus on trendy new stuff. I think it keeps them feeling young or whatever. However, there is hope. The ones who stray from the mainstream and still look hot are still around, but usually they're rare and a little brighter and could even make you feel dumb. I suggest you check out certain spots to try to pick up these kinds of girls: jazz clubs, independent movies theaters, and possibly certain sections of bookstores. There is hope!

To The Kidd,

Not an angry geek, just calling it as I see it. Truth be told there are a lof of guys out there that feel the same way I do, they just may not post...lol! I'm far from an elitist and have "gone with the flow" many times if I really wanted to get to know some woman. You are right (as well as Sick Again), the hot women are reading the tabloids and doing trendy stuff...that's fine but I can't deal with that 24/7. If all the girl is going to be is a phuck puppet then that's fine by me if she wants to watch Sesame Street.
