I know a dozen or so of you have been through this: how many times have you asked a woman what a film is about only to have the dunderhead tell you who STARS in the film? She didn't even hear your question, or could be bothered with the CONTENT of the question. I don't care WHO is in the movie, what's it ABOUT? Half the time you get this glazed over look....she doesn't understand why you won't go see a film based solely on who is in it. I mean if a movie stars a guy that she likes, the plot could involve him eating fertilizer for two hours and that's ok by her. But if I tell her I want to see a Kubrick or Frankenheimer flick and try to tell her what its about she/they just glaze over (its even worse when they don't even know who Stanley Kubrick or John Frankenheimer were). I used to think it was funny when I was younger, but once you hit adulthood you expect more from another person your age. And God forbid you throw music in the mix. I have found that most women have very simplistic, processed tastes in music. The lighter the better....everything has to have vocals so that means jazz is out. But if you don't dig her collection Z100 extended dance mixes "you're boring". Well I have news for you honey, the view from here isn't exactly heaven either. So yes, you just move on....and by george you will meet women that actually have a brain and can think in complete sentences without the approval of 50 of their friends. Its just a tough road to travel sometimes!
