DALLAS (AP) — A 22-year-old mother was facing child abuse charges Friday after police say she glued her toddler daughter's hands to a wall, kicked her in the stomach and beat her over a potty training issue.
Joselyn Cedillo, 2, was on life support with multiple internal injuries at a Dallas hospital Thursday, The Dallas Morning News reported (http://dallasne.ws/pKJtEb ). A hospital spokeswoman told The Associated Press she had no information on the girl Friday.

It's no secret that it is usually women that push men for children. Even if unplanned, a vast majority of females would one way or another welcome a child into their arms. In this situation I would bet that this child was unplanned, but if it was so unwanted then you would think it would have been aborted. Obviously making assumptions here.

So here is a female with a child in her life, yet abuses the hell out of the child. So what is the deal? Why does this woman and others (such as the Casey Anthony case) go against their instinctive desire to nurture their child? Why is child abuse so prevalent between both of the sexes? There are multiple different ways to part ways with an unwanted infant yet we always here the same old story. I'm seriously curious. I just wish I had an actual opinion as of why to share.

You are in this site from 2008 and still expect an explanation about why women do stupid things that have no sense and go against brain and nature?

I can go say "Woman are emotional and can't think rationally" but there sure as hell has to be a lot more than that. Why would they be so emotionally disconnected from their child to beat them? The child's life was celebrated at birth, and is now detested two years later. Because raising a child is hard? No ****. Problems with instant gratification?

Doctors and scientists asks questions, and so will I. How long I have been here has no correlation to how knowledgeable I am in regards to the male and female psyche. I have learned, I am learning, and I will learn in the years to come.

it might sound absurd to you but "some" women don't have an instinctive desire to nurture anything.
look at women that do not take care of their husbands, don't cook dinner, don't wash clothes, don't know how to grocery shop.... they don't do it because they don't want to and don't desire to.
look at the amount of women who are walking away from the home and kids when they leave their husbands these days.... they have no desire.
it's a shame what is happening and you see it more and more all the time.

It is deviant behavior. More people more deviants...statistic.

In the past there was less stress and less opportunities - no partying etc. so less remorse. Also the communities were much smaller, abuse or psych. problems were discovered earlier. And you had grandparents in the house.

Now it is just single nervous mum, living in the city, with major issues.

Children demand constant attention it calls for good attitude and patience...maturity. Today even 50yo act as selfish children. Maturity is not sought for, it reminds us of death.

Often the abuse is learned. Check her parents. I guess neurotic mother, absent father.

Never try to read a woman's mind. It is a scary place. Ignore her confusing signals and mixed messages. Assume she is interested in you and act accordingly.
