Witty lines, and turning the tables on a female

(I know I posted this in the HS forums but not many people go there)

How can I build up natural wit, meaning, that I don't have to refer to overused lines that I got from somewhere else, or just thought of it long time ago. How can I come up with witty things to say ON THE SPOT? How do I look for inspiration on things to say that are witty? How do I turn the tables on a female?

Start hanging around guys that are witty - when the BS sessions start going, you develop the skills to keep up real quick.

hmmm I use to visit different forums for flaming..I used to go to different forums..that are partial to verbal jousting...and practice, observe, learn

and most places arent very kind to newbies..so this should put you of the offensive right away

Starman you havent seen anything until you go to www.newcelica.org go onto the forum, scroll down to "Off Topic: Enter At Your Own Risk" and start posting there. You'll get torn into by all the regulars for just showing your face. It's funny watching new people try and introduce themselves.

I will check it out..I am well aware of the flame procedure..

it gets hard tho when you are taking on 3-7 people at a time..I only usually respond back to the wittier funnier flaming

I think you'll do well there Star, you're a pretty witty/funny guy, I'll keep an eye on that forum for your entrance =P Say something intimidating to really get them going!

Posting in forums is good, but you need to be working on your responses all the time. It's more about constant self improvement than a couple crash courses, so you feel at ease with yourself, and can take control of situations at will. Like DF said, hang out with people who you think are good at these situations.

Also, be on the lookout for other examples of what you need to be doing. Watch for people that keep their cool. Watch as many comedians as you can. Watch their showsmultiple times... Watch movies where characters act the way you wish you acted. Watch THEM multiple times. Don't just watch it and go, that guy is smooth. Get in the groove of it...picture situations as if you were them.

Sounds kind of like crazy role playing, but it works. I used to be able to be caught off guard, made blush, etc. But the more you work, the more you learn, and the more people you interact with, the more skills you pick up.

Yea I saw lol. The guys that are on now pretty much suck. All the good flamers are on during the work-day when they are sitting at their desks.

I find that watching good stand up comedians and a lot of seinfeld really helps my wit. Just find a comedian's style you like and practice mimicing it. Try things out see what kind of responses you get and note what works the best.

I wouldn't recommend this. I know too many "funny" guys who use nothing but neg hits and teasing, they NEVER get any ladies.

Try to remember that no matter who they are, or what they look like... no matter what they say, they are still just women, and just like any decent red-blooded women, their brains turn to mush when you get them under the sheets. *shrugs* ...that's if they hold your attention long enough for you to actually speak to them. If not, just use the default reply to a women's sassy comment.. that reply is simply.. '...you are boring the sh*t out of me.'

I notice my c/f usually only make guys laugh..for some reason women dont understand my wit..so I have to adjust my humor around the ladies a bit..

usually chicks laugh at sexual innuendo type of humor..but don't get nasty or overkill it..

At a club, was chatting up some HB's, when one of them said something about me being confident, and went on about how she hates arrogant men, blah blah blah. Anyway, she said, "that's to bad, I was gonna take you home with me tonight," I replied, "Really, do I look that easy"?

Ended up bangin her two nights later.

something that helps is to pay attention to what people say, and c/f about that. example:

girl - "i can't find my fvcking brush."
me - "you are going to fvck your brush? I will help you find it!"

basically, paying close attention to what people say makes it a lot easier to crack a joke.

Yeah you don't build whit by flaming, but you can build or pick it up by hanging out with them "banter".

I suggest watching comedians that don't use just one liner type material. Look for ones that are comfortable with social commentaries. They may come off as cynical at first, but if you watch a few, they tend to joke about the same things that go through your head but just never said out loud. Another good thing is that it will ad to your repertoire of current event subjects to talk about.

I agree. A lot of the HBO specials are good to watch. They're really funny, and they're by pros that have been around the block a time or two. Here are a handful of comedians that you can learn from...
