i'm not sure if any of you guys use the tinder app (it's for iphone and android only) but basically it's creating a huge buzz where I am, like typically for online dating types you'll get the usual trash.. but with tinder because it's female friendly (i.e. only the guys they want messaging them get to) all sorts of women are trying it out who normally wouldn't use online dating.

is this likely to change the landscape of dating? i.e. she has orbiters on tap

Anyway, the app is worthless in my area, as are the other ones of its ilk... Blendr, Skout, Stalkr, whatever other ones they have.

They're mostly populated by overweight ethnic chicks for some reason in SoCal... and they're not looking for anything different than the chicks of POF, OKC, Datehookup, Match, etc are looking for.

Here's my hierarchy of dating sites and apps, from best quality to worst:

-iPhone & Android apps like Blendr, Tindr, Rapr, etc-
Craigslist

Sites like alt.com and aff.com are in a whole different category. I haven't tried Zoosk or any Facebook based ones because they seem like a scammy ripoff and frankly I don't want my dating profile associated with my real life profile.

Oh, I said f*ck it and installed Tinder. Just to check it out. It's like Hot or Not but faster. You basically only get a person's pics. No height, weight, interests, religion, anything... then if you both choose each other you can message.

I'm basically saying "YES" to every single woman on the thing. I don't even look, I just hit yes yes yes yes yes while I'm doing other things. Then if the chick also says yes I can look closer and see if I really want to communicate. But then again I'm looking for f*cks and I'll f*ck 19 out of 20 women on the site between the ages of 18 and 39, so it actually takes me longer to check out each photo and decide.

One of my buddies is cleaning up house on tinder, and in two months has already banged a handfull of chicks. From ages 19-37. The 19 year old now goes to school in Indiana and is in love with my buddy. The 37 year old he dropped because she wanted something more

I've tried it and no luck.

In terms of the other site POF is a gold mine in my area if you have no standards like Zarky or are a good looking guy. One of my buddies who is good looking was cleaning up house on POF and banging 3 chicks a week easily from 5-7 range of hotness.

I tried Okcupid thinking it would be better, but Okcupid is terrible for a minority the women just don't fucc with men outside of their race and finding black women is like finding a needle in a haystack on that site

Like literally 3 out of 4 look like they don't speak a word of English, with the thin overly arched penciled in eyebrows and lip-liner and sh*t. Just weird. Like this:

This is why I started the thread!

Tinder is ALL hot chicks, you know why? Because they make it so that no guys can message them unless they swipe back yes and are a match.

It's female friendly, unlike the other apps sites where they get bombarded.

All real 95%. Depending what city you're in, in new york it's cleaning up, in london cleaning up, I just don't know what's gona happen to us guys tryna avoid internet dating type girls.

Tinder seems to be legit. I'm pretty damn surprised and still not sure why such a high percentage are hot. It's like one after the other.

And I'm getting a pretty high hit rate too. Spent last night at one of my girl's places (banged her) and was in the bathroom every half hour messaging a 8-10 different chicks at once. None of the 18 year olds mind you but some really pretty mid-20s through mid-30s chicks.

There was one scammer but that one was sniffed out easily since "she" contacted me from 1000 miles away, talked sexy immediately, and wouldn't answer my questions about where "she" was located.

The only problem is the app access my GPS whenever a new message comes in. Pretty obnoxious. Also it's a pain in the ass cut and pasting messages to new matches on the friggin phone. Wish they had a desktop version.

Another issue is that I can't really pre-screen by looking at a profile or answering matching questions (as with OKC). With an app like this where you know literally nothing about the chick before you "match" and start talking, pre-screening (sexual interest) is gonna take awhile. Got two women who gave me their phone numbers and one who wanted to go out tonight but I'm going to have to slow it down and start talking sexy with them or I'm going to have a lot of lame first-dates that waste my time and money.

I'm still utterly in the dark as to why such a high percentage are hot. Maybe the ugly chicks get so few "yes" clicks that they just give up? nah, because there are dudes like me to say "yes" to them all without looking. Maybe if you get a low percentage of "yes" clicks they bury your profile? I don't get it.

In all other respects this appears to be standard online dating. It's not a "hookup" app in any sense of the word, like Grindr is for the gays. Women are women. You still gotta run your typical online dating game... only on a touch screen LOL

After swiping through literally every chick from ages 18-45 in my immediate area, I can say that in my eyes the average chick on there is a 6-7. That's the average in my area (to me at least). Completely unlike all other dating sites where the average is like a 3-4. Almost no women in their 40s. Lots of women in their 20s, some in 30s.

Also your point that ugly chicks may not get many matches so may not use it, bruise to the ego, and the ones that do swipe yes to the fuglies are prob not the ones they've swiped yes to. Those 2 things together explains it.

It's like wildfire where I am. Lot use it for the novelty factor.

PS you know Ýou can just switch off your gps, it doesn't need it after the first time (tho it means it will only look for girls within x miles of that area permanently)

I assume you're using the iphone version of the app and not the android. I use the android version so I just cut paste same msg. Easy.

They wouldn't make a desktop version cos it's based on your approximate location so you can pair with someone near you.

I get a lot of matches where I am but nothing materializes. Most here use it as dating. Women near the city seem to use it as a means for sex - New York in particular I hear. One of my friends had 3 women who wanted sex within the first week of using it.

I usually fire it up on the weekends, bring the radius down to 2 miles, than swipe through for 10 minutes. Each weekend I am in Boston I'll get a few matches. One chick from Chicago was flying out but seemed interested in meeting up. Other than that, in the oasis of dating that is my current location very little will come of it ( or anything for that matter)

True, but that would apply to the uglies as well. I'm still trying to figure out why they're not on Tinder to the same extent as other sites. It's not just that there are so many attractive girls, but there are so few ugly ones (relatively speaking).

The only thing I can think of is an algorithm that literally prevents your profile from displaying if it doesn't have a high click-through rate (to use Google advertising as an analogy.)

i've asked them this myself but they haven't answered my questions about how it works.

i've figured out that what it does is it shows you all the women within your distance parameters who are currently online using the app, then also the ones who have swiped yes/no for you.

Because i've noticed at different times of the day i'll have loads of people to swipe through and others very few.

click through rate i dont think makes a difference, it's literally who is currently online using the app within your distance and then all the ones who have swiped yes/no for you.

i think it would be an ego blow for a fugly she'll be swiping yes so many times and not getting any matches that she gets frustrated and just goes back to normal internet dating where guys will copy/paste messages.. basically i think it's not good for fuglies to use tinder to get an attention fix. whereas all the above average girls will have many matches.

it almost depends where you live, like i can imagine where you are in SoCal you'd have loads of hot girls anyway, high density despite there being a lot of fuglies too.

I like the fact it uses our facebook profile in order to log in.. it reduces significantly the number of fakes, plus even a fake facebook profile is not enough, you need x amount of friends and y amount of likes for the tinder app to not pre screen you as a spam bot. very good system. not sure how they're going to make money out of this apart from maybe charging people a minute amount like whatsapp do (99cents a year)

i've found that further away i go i.e. distance parameters the more fuglies i get.

i started using the app in a rich area and switched off my GPS after that so all my recommendations are from that point, if i go more than 4-5 miles from that distance i start to get more and more fuglies.

yes i 100% agree. the better looking you are the more matches you'll get. the rest of us average guys have to literally spend half an hour swiping through 100s of profiles not looking at it and then deciding who of your matches you actually would have swiped yes to.

Something else I've found... all these Tinder b*tches only have weekends available! WTF? I already have two LTRs that take up my weekends. I need b*tches who have weekday nights free.

This tells me that the chicks on Tinder have no current boyfriends. This generally means they are looking for LTRs, not hookups.

I'm juxtaposing Tinder with Blendr and it's quite interesting. I think the hoochies on Blendr are legit hookup girls, whereas these Tinder chicks aren't. Seems like 90% of Tinder chicks want boyfriends, much like the vast majority of standard online dating sites.

They are far, far more attractive than Blendr chicks though.

updates? Who is using this app? I have two dates lined up, tomorrow and Wed. Feel like tomorrow will not pan out but Wed looking positive so far. About 100 matches, probably a dozen convos going on. Blocked a half dozen chicks who weren't interested in fast sex.
