Just curious, there's no real need to do it - if it ain't broke don't fix it - but its interesting to see that these forums have stayed the same since I joined back in 2006 (and I'm sure they were the same before then too). There are a few things that could be added for the ease of convenience (i.e. pressing CTRL + B to automatically bold text instead of clicking the icon and formatting it manually, etc)
As much as I roll my eyes at Facebook in general, a bunch of internet forums have begun implementing a "Like" option next to a post (IGN, etc). I thought it was little more than obnoxious bandwagon pandering at first, but after frequenting the IGN boards for a month or two, I began to realize how significant it is - to the point where I notice the absence here. It's an easy way to see the validity/credibility of a post or where the community stands (especially considering that this forum is all about giving advice), or make an exceptional post write-up stand out to a person reading a thread at a glance.
Then again I don't work with InvisionFree or know what the original owner of this forum is even up to now, so this may not even be feasible. I dunno, I just thought I'd see what the community thinks.
Below is a link to one of the boards on IGN that has this layout, you can see how it operates.
