The single mom I dated actually told me before i met her daughter that she hated it when guys tried to be too friendly with her kid as a means to get in good with her.

Funny thing is, when I did meet her little girl (an absolutely ADORABLE 3 year old) we hit it off pretty good. Maybe mommie didn't like that for whatever reason....

All I know is that while I was having a good time being entertained by the kid, I could feel mommie scrutinizing every move I made, even though nothing was forced. Pretty uncomfortable, actually. Might have been the fact that mom was a bit psychotic, I dunno.

Why you should avoid single mommies is best described by the experience I had with the last single mommy I tried to date.

32 years old. Hot ravenhead. Daughter of 5, concieved while passing through from an impulsive trip from Europe to the US to see her redneck blinddate(!), to a holiday job at some Greek island resort.

Mitigating circumstances: she was 27, had an IQ of about 150. She admitted she acted less than smart at the time.

Punchline: she was actually offended when I insisted that I wanted to see her, and only her, when we would first meet.

Hey, I'd gladly meet your smart 5-year old daughter. I love kids. But I want to meet you first.

For the rest I agree with scrapperdog's statement that was quoted by Warrior. However, such a mature attitude is often not what you find in your average single mommy. What would a mature and responsible man want with such a woman?

Sure I don't mind raising your kid and helping you start with a clean slate. The problem is, usually what made the slate filthy in the first place is still there.

Though I believe in helping people, no thanks. Help yourself first.

That math doesn't add up. 32 y.o. w/5 y.o. daughter puts her at 28 when she gave birth. At best she was a late 27 when she was "acting less than smart", not 23. However, you just proved my Schedules of Mating point, and proactive cheating with regards to single mothers so I'll overlook it.

Rollo Tomassi said:
Proactive cheating is the single Mommy dillema. This form of 'cheating' relies on the woman breeding with a Good Genes male, bearing his children and then abandoning him, or having him abandon her, (again through invented social conventions) in order to find a Good Dad male to provide for her and the children of her Good Genes partner to ensure their security.

I want to stress again that (most) women do not have some consciously recognized, master plan to enact this cycle and deliberately trap men into it. Rather the motivations for this behavior and the accompanying rationales invented to justify it are an unconscious process. I fervently believe that for the most part, women are unaware of this dynamic, but are nonetheless subject to it's influence. For a female of any species to facilitate a methodology for breeding with the best genetic partner she's able to attract AND to ensure her own and her offspring's survival with the best provisioning partner; this is an evolutionary jackpot.

Rollo, that was a mistype there that I completely overlooked. :p

Indeed, she was 27 at the time. A late bloomer, in her own words. Edited the number.

And what you say is very well possible. She probably didn't do it consciously, but still. It would explain why this woman, while saying it wasn't the smart thing to do, felt justified in having done it nonetheless. That's how she presented her case every step of the way. And I don't feel the justification had everything to do with her love for her daughter. Then again, it might have everything to do with it: "I'm so glad I did it!" Needless to say more.

It would also explain why, from the get go, it felt as if this woman was on the daddy hunt. I kept feeling as if I was being seized up for suitability. Which is of course logical for any single mommy, but the fact that she more or less insisted she and her daughter came as a package and had strong feelings about me not meeting her daughter right away, seems like more evidence to support your point.

Interestingly enough (or not perhaps) there are a plethora of single moms hitting me up these days. In January-->February 2 out of my 3 plates were single moms. Most of the replies I get to my online profile(s) are from single moms. I'm being as selective as I can and I know I can't fall into a routine of getting into a LTR with easy prey. There would have to be something truly spectacular about the single mom for me to consider playing that role. I just don't see it happening. I don't want to waste my time or theirs but I have needs and I am going to march through the rest of my life with a similar mentality as those who have marched right over and through mine.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

This is because man who are at higher sexual market value (SMV) than you, who would have been otherwise interested in such women have decided that they did not want to deal with single mommies, and therefore these women have decided that men at your level are within the desired range of SMV (i.e., near the top of what they could expect to attract.)

I too get a lot of attention from decently attractive single mommies, and don't get any from similarly otherwise attractive childless women.

At my age, and dating women who meet my criteria of being at the same social level as me, they will be around the same age. Divorcees etc, WILL all have children. In fact, I will be very sceptical of a 40 year old who has never married and has no kids unless she physically can't.

They key guys is to ensure that she is financially independant and above all keep your independance. Do NOT move in with her and then things will be fine.

How about the fact that they were too stupid to use birth control properly the first time?

I'm not about to seed her again because she's too stupid to get a shot regulary or remember to take a damn pill or whatever method.

Actually this was probably caused by the woman telling him every bad thing about you with some tall tales thrown in for good measure and not one good thing about you. Ex gf's have a knack for doing this. Once he realized that your not the jerk she claimed that you are he chilled out.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Apparently I made Hannibal Lecter look like a saint from the things she said about me. Also, before she started dating him, she told him that I was the love of her life, the best sex she had ever had and that she missed me every night. So between those two opposing views in his head I see why he was all messed up. They will do a number on you if you believe their bull. Which is why I don't believe anything a woman tells me about another man. I wait to see how action and the facts play out over time. patience is key.

I could care less if she has a kid or not. What does that have to do with it. I'm not marrying her, and if I was, I wouldn't adopt the kid. So the fck what? Grown up ftards.

Never ever ever date a single mom who pushes the kids on you from day one. In fact, if you meet her kids before you have sex, I would bail.
That is a good point however. I had this happen to be once in a big way. It's like a fuking nightmare whenever I remember it. Chick was hot, chick was a stripper, chick let me fluck her however I wanted to. Chick was taking me for all my gold and I got to baby sit her little delinquents. Now that I see the error of my ways, I know what to look for and how to deal with said chicks. Will still get the pusee when I play it right and not have to pay for shiznit. Wow this is like AA for puseemens.

I was out with one on Saturday - we went to a piano bar at the 4 Seasons Hotel, dessert buffet was impecable... had a blast.

She started talking about how she was thinking "we could go to the park tomorrow"..

I'm thinking wow how cute she wants to go to the park with me..

Until I realized "we" meant her and her kid.

This can also be looked at on the opposite end of the spectrum.

You are an older man (around 40). You are done with the thoughts of any kids. It is in your past. Your looking to date. You know how kids can affect a relationship, especially when they are not yours.

You find a single women close to your age, no kids, no baggage. Great!!

Things are going smooth. Then one night she wants to talk, Yes what is it dear??

I want to have a child before I get to old!!:nervous:

Chit, I thought I was going the right way??:cuss:

Be careful.

this is why I hate dating 27-35 year olds with no children....they always seem to want marriage and kids after awhile and I know I am not going to give it to them. women with kids broads usually know I'm not interested in marriage and we can just have fun and talk about our kids and go our separate ways.
