Advice from the old lady:
Now I realize I’m an outlier...but I’m having a blast in my 50s. A straight up blast. Obviously it won’t be like this forever, but that’s Ok. My friends, men I date, and I all have been there done that on the marriage & kids thing, everybody has money and life experience and I’m surrounded by my children, who are well adjusted, and a seriously cool circle of friends that are fun & adventurous and supportive.
Its cool to take a trip for the weekend to hang with a friend (male or female) and enjoy their company. I have a great life & am really blessed & spoiled in many ways.
In the next 6-12 months I’m going to Hawaii to see a player buddy of mine and his gf (I introduced them), to Hong Kong to see my best high school girlfriend & her hubby of almost 30 years, to Austin, to Vegas, and once they open back up to NYC, LA and San Diego.
I’ll also go to VA Beach to see an old ex lover & how his restaurants are doing there. We’ve known each other 30 years this year and I trust him with my life.
So I cannot complain. Life is rich and full of joy. And the people I run with feel the same way, men and women...
The man I’m seeing is recently divorced and he’s like Wow. I should’ve done this 10 years ago...He always has a giant smile on his face & he tells me his friends & clients are like “What’s gotten into you?...You’re happy!!!”
He’s like Yes. Yes I am. Lmao.
