Why grow your own produce when you can simply go to the local Wal-Mart and buy produce that's been grown in used soil, got 5000 miles on it, has been sprayed with a light wax preservative, exposed to ethylene to accelerate ripening, touched by 2 dozen people with varying degrees of sanitation habits, and has been sitting in the store for 6 days?
