I agree with the others who say she is out playing you.
Mainly because of these three things you said below:

- She has hinted at an extensive dating history.
- She has more male friends than female friends.
- She doesn't call me.

Looks like she has plenty of other options and her interest is low.
You can't really outplay a female who is a good player, just because of the natural male/female dynamic. A woman who reels guys in can get a practically unlimited number of men interested in her.

If she's not calling you she may be a "Rules Girl." The Rules tell women to never call men. Personally, I find these women to be a bore. I expect them to call me every now and then and I will get bored and move on if I feel like I'm doing all the work.

She's still close to her last ex-boyfriend. The guy apparently talks about me and still wants to be a part of her life. She wants to keep him around.

That was the deal breaker.

she's probably using her ex as a jealousy generator in order to have an upper hand against you. i don't see her to stop playing games in the near future. you made a good move.
