Those two drug studies are very typical; I've seen several. None of them really prove anything important. Yes, kids who go schizo later in life like to smoke pot. They use it to self-medicate. People who get brain tumors probably have headaches first and probably take aspirin before they know they have a tumor. Despite what is probably a very high correlation between aspirin and brain tumors, the aspirin has absolutely nothing to do with the cause of the tumor. It's the same for pot and schizophrenia, correlation exists, but that does nothing to prove causation, despite the typical sensationalist headline in whatever news article is discussing the study.

And brain "abnormalities" don't mean anything. If it has no impact on your life or health, who cares? Chronic smokers of chronic have different chemicals in their heads, different brain parts might be different sizes, so what? If you are not in pain, have no illness, and live just as long as anyone else, then none of this matters the slightest bit. It's just more government scare-tactics, because they can't find anything legitimately dangerous about pot.

I went through some bad depression and I can honestly say that I don't believe I would still be alive if I didn't experiment with weed. It works better than any anti-depressants ever did. It really opened my eyes to how much a gift life is.

I smoke weed and then go driving all the time. I drive just fine. I drive a little too slow when I'm high but that's all I can say. Nothing dangerous in that.

I think the people who are against marijuana are uneducated and have never tried it before.

I still dont understand who gave the rights to nations to decide what a singular citizen can use and what he cannot.
No problem if they tell us to avoid driving after drugs or alchol but why in hell its a problem if we smoke a little with our girls in our homes?
Everybody should have the right to do everything as long as that everything dont disturb others.

I know a guy who was a hardcore meth user for ten years, most of them spent shooting up. As you can imagine, his life was pretty fvcked up. He had a kid that his own parents raised, because he was off doing meth all the time.

A few years ago, someone introduced him to really good pot, and he quit the meth in favor of the pot. Then his life completely turned around. He never did meth or coke again, he has a steady job for the first time in his life, and he now has his son back; they actually have a very good relationship. He smokes pot every day after work and probably all day on weekends.

The government's own anti-drug literature will state that there is no cure for meth addiction. Maybe they mean no legal cure.

US cant tax you on weed... everyone including me would be growing it.
Not exactly. If it becomes legalized people will want the good stuff. Like hydro. Growing weed can be an expensive process. You need self-timing lights, fans going on the plant, and proper nutrients. This can end up using a fair share of electricity. Plus with an influx of supply due to legalization you wouldn't exactly be making big bucks. People like convenience. Why would everyone go through the hassle of growing it when they can just get it at their local weed store for less than what weed is going now?

Less than it is now? It's hard to say with the possible taxes. Of course if taxes are too high people will just buy blackmarket and it will be almost impossible to stop.

Either way, most people still won't grow it. Just like people don't grow tobacco or make their own wine/beer or even grow their own food.
