Uh, I'm not too big on the whole thing, but I thought Vader knew about Luke, but didn't know about Leia until he was reading Luke's mind and found out about her.

Wasn't Anakin the best pilot in the galaxy? In A New Hope, Obi Wan mentions this to Luke...maybe that has something to do with Anakin's last name (and, hence, Luke's last name).

Vader is incredibly in tune with the force. Luke exudes force. Vader can simply "sense" it.

is it empire strikes back when luke is riding that 2 legged kagaroo/goat type thing.. and a yeti type thing attacks him?

well. in that episode vader SOMEHOW knew to go to that planet.. (the force)... he knew because luke was there..

it all kinda winds in i think.

but just remember, when unexplained, think wizard.

The Lars (Owen and Beru) were not blood related to Anakin and Shimi. As far as everyone knows, Anakin was an only child! There may be some connection between the Lars and Obi-wan Kenobi. I heard somewhere that Owen was Ben Kenobi's brother.

Have you even seen the movies? Emperor Palpatine tells Vader that Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker and Vader says something like "How can that be?"

I'm still waiting for this outtake from Empire:

Vader is holding a sheet of DNA lab results and says to Luke, "I'm 99.999% sure I am your father..."

That's only in the new, special edition versions. Those of us who grew up on the original un-bastardized versions remember that it originally wasn't mentioned till that fateful duel at the end of ESB.

Vader: Obi-wan never told you what happened to you father did he?

Luke: He told me enough, he told me you killed him!

Vader: No. I AM YOUR FATHER!

Of course, the totally rewritten special edition version of the Emperor and Vader's convo (notice the difference in the hologram and the voice from the original) totally undermines that revelation.
Just goes to show you: If something aint broke, don't fix it. That means you mr. Lucas!

I agree it's a sh*tty plot and a lame story. It's like cowboys and indians just with even worse characters.

It's more like a wandering samurai tale. I've seen tons upon tons of great movies where the protaginist have swords and have the ability to deflect bullets and what not.

And the whole "Master (fill in the blank)" thing, they might as well be saying Sensai. Starwars is a total rip from that motif no doubt about it. The only diff is the galactic fantasy apeal to it which caught on pretty big.

I want to see unleashed. with that little engine that could, Jet li, it's suppose to be one of his best american films ever... hey look samuel l jackson's in that one too! That man's my idol.

He told lucas "I don't want to go out like no punk"
He also told lucas that he wanted to have a purple lightsabre because he likes purple...and so he could stand out more the some other people in the combat scenes in Episode 2.

They have the power of the force, they can just sense these things. Like when Luke revealed to Leia that she was his sister, even with her undeveloped power she could still feel that he was telling the truth.

Vader never forgot that he was once Anakin Skywalker. In the original version of Empire Strikes Back, the Emperor hologram (voiced by Clive Revill and looking somewhat like a cross between a human and lemur), told Vader that the son of Skywalker was the disturbance he felt in the force. Vader did not seem phased by this revelation. He simply mused casually that Luke could be turned and the Emperor thought it was a good idea. At the time, there was no reason for the audience to see any connection between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader other than the fact that we still operated with the assumption that the only connection was that Vader killed Luke's father, as reported by Ben Kenobi in Episode IV.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
