Why have the last 10 years gone by so fast?

I have a birthday coming up next month. The 2000's have been like a dream, I dont know how else to describe it. Especially if you've been on the internet the whole decade, lol.

The 90's seemed like an eternity in constrast.

Has the internet sped up our perception of time? I think the amount of entertainment options has also distorted things...I think 2 or 3 times more movies than in the 90's, movies come to dvd quicker....add so much instant online media gratification.

I think the 00's have been extremely unfulfilling for many people...thus the explosion of self help, self improvement, and all these alternative theories (secret, law of attraction). People are desperate to find *something* to latch onto.

I hope 2010-2020 dont go by as fast.

YES!
I see that I'm not the only one who's feeling like this.

The last three years... I can remember a lot things like they were yesterday. :)

Maybe myself, you and all the others who feel the same should have more happening in our lives.
Haven't we become drones doing A, B & C (entertainment or not) over and over again? Personally, I think this and not enjoying the moment are the causes of our perceptions.

the 90's were eternity, but i was still quite young throughout that era and i subscribe to the concept that one's perception of time speeds up as you get older.

I get out more now than I use to. My social skills and social awareness have gone from about a 2 in the 90's to a 7 or 8, thats not a problem.

The 00's have been dead in terms of entertainment, music, sports, all sorts of things vs the 90's. Television died. Mainstream media turned unwatchable.

-There's less social contact.

There's an element to the 00's....its almost like everyone had to relearn basic living skills...thus all the dating sites, dating coaches, life coaches, all the dumbed down living advice. "Money coaches". I think people handed their lives over to gurus and "experts".

On the whole, seems like a tremendous lack of progress for a lot of people....thus we now need "motivation". We didnt need that in the 80's or 90's.

Just some random thoughts.
