A brilliant read on topic -

However, I do get a feeling that sometimes girls do sacrifice certain things for men.
Since men and women are so different, the sacrifices women make could be something that is not registered by us. An example - I had a girl wake up an hour earlier than me (and I usually have to get up early) so she could go to the bathroom and be pretty when I get out of bed. I didn't really think about it, until we had to part ways (I was leaving the country for a few months), so as a nice gesture I decided to wake up an hour early and make a big breakfast in bed for her.
It wasn't that hard to do since I only did it once, but doing that every single day when I'm with her? No way, I want my sleep!
I think it goes to a lot of the little things, such as a long term girlfriend of one of my friends always cleans around and does the dishes in his house.
This does not seem like a sacrifice that some men make (move to different country, switch jobs, etc.), and might seem menial, however, it is a form of a sacrifice (effort, and time) that may often go under-appreciated, in a similar way woman will never understand how much it meant for you to go watch football with your friends or why you chose not to accept that job offer in Barbados.
We sacrifice different things, since we value different things.
For some reason, this topic also reminded me of an old story I heard a long time ago. Details faded, so pardon me for lack of storytelling skills or some sort of logical mistakes.
A man and his wife have been together for 40 years; Every morning, wife would wake up and make toast with butter for breakfast. The toaster they had was a bit weird - it would toast the two slices so that one was always quite crunchy, and the other one was quite soft. The wife really loved crunchy toasts, but since she also loved her husband so much, she would always give him the crunchy piece, while eating the soft one herself. This morning, however, when making a toast, she thought "Ah, damn it. I've been with him for forty years now, so screw it I'll take this one for myself this morning". She took the crunchy toast, and placed soft one into her husband's plate.
The man's eyes lit up - "Oh honey! Thank you!"
"What do you mean?"
"For forty years we've been together, I'd always see you eat the soft toast for breakfast. Since I was a kid, I always loved soft toasts, but since I saw how you liked them, I never said anything! And now, after 40 years we've been together, you gave me the soft one!"
Then, they consummated their love on the kitchen table while rolling in the toasts, or something.
