It amazes me that people bother to post what are controversial and obviously lockable threads. I learned my lessons early on, although I'm sure like me, people still try to sneak them through for awhile before a lock. But seriously...politices, religion, world events, faith, race? Come on. For all the perceived advancements that we've experienced, we're still largely ignorant, stupid, and unwise.
What's perhaps MORE shocking, is that we presume to KNOW, as if we have the EXPERIENCE of living and doing what it is we know. And many of us doing the KNOWING are in the mid-20's, when it's more regurgitated stuff, or third party information at best. I mean, unless you're doing the work, or the research, or are there, it's just like copying and pasting it into the text boxes here. Sure, great, your brain is big enough to assimilate what you read and perhaps form grammatically correct, cohesive sentences. Yippee. It still won't change peoples' minds here, and moreover, you're still as ignorant as anyone else on the planet.
What brought this on was viewing the vast amount junk posted in Anything Else that comes from people presuming to KNOW, but having not LIVED, and offering it as some CREED that we should now believe. I've always ascribed to a belief that...listening to someone's advice gets you what they've gotten, so be wary of FREE advice from people you don't it from. Same goes for this sort of website...you'll get stuff based on the beliefs of the guys here. Some can spin stuff better, but using the example of investing, if Guy A says mutual funds are good, and Guy B says Real Estate is good, you'll get whichever guy you pick to emulate. Other factors not considered, is that what you want of your life, or should you just figure it out on your own, since you're the only answering for how you lived anyways?
Who does it behoove to listen to some of the gibberish out there anyways? Some, will abide by what they demean is complete logic, and ascribe to evolution or forms thereof. Other's, can quote scripture like I can quote Borat. Who's to say who's right, unless one of these groups IS God, or A god? Or metaphorically speaking, the SUPREME truth. Funny, all science aspires to be THE ONE, and all religion tries to do the same...coincidence or a link? But it isn't all about god. Politics, too.
We stand on the CUSP of politics. What people think they knew, and what actually happens is so far off it's nuts. You're not there, you're not in their heads, like most humanity, your information comes from the tv, newspapers, books, media, interviewers, and the like, and here, many of the LOGICAL types have boldly admitted that people are selfish race, evolved from selfish genes, with nothing but themselves and their own agendas at work. So that being true from their perspective, what's to say all people of authority tell you is the reality THEY want from their SELFISH genes, which maintains the status quo?
As it is, one would believe evolution has made celebrities and people who know how to brown nose with pretty genetics or handsome genetics the superior people, yet, were the world thrust into catastrophe, most of them are useless UNLIKE the general populace, who while don't have super money making skills are USEFUL. If society as we know it felt apart, people who can build homes, make fires, fix things, cook, kill animals, hunt, are strong, will survive. One could theorize that the weakest people are the purportedly rich, which only obtain that status by way of our "society and economy", obviously an artificial construct born only of BELIEFS that are right or wrong. Currently, a belief that capitalism is right (which I'm not debating here), has made those people appear, powerful, made even by products of natural evolution. But desolve that artificial construct, which only exists by way of verbal agreement of men and nothing else, and they're valueless, just as a dollar bill without any faith, credit, or government to back it.
So as it may seem, what we know or believe is only based upon what we keep to hold it up. Here we are, like fish in a bowl, trying to figure US out (which we don't even know well), and figure out this life we're in, AND the universe we're in, where we are from, where we are going, and we're also OBSERVERS trying to OBSERVE ourselves. Is that even possible? The thing that's EXAMINING itself and the environment it's in, doesn't know itself, so if the equipment doing the work is flawed, how can what it produces not be flawed also?
It appears as if we make up theories and ideas to explain the inexplicable, so we have something 'concrete' to cling to, and yet, there's nothing there to cling to, just ideas and thoughts, which more often than not, hold us back. Religion. Politics. Money. Genetics. It's as if, people want everyone to believe these things to simplify life, much like Richard Dawkins in SouthPark wanted people to be Atheists so the world would be more peaceful again (yes poor reference, but the idea is what I was shooting for). I'll get around to his book, but again...isn't that just making THAT the bible? Is it possible Christianity then, is what books like "The God Delusion" are now? Maybe the bible was heresy then (you weren't there, you're only relying on historically accurate documents at best, so don't act like it's rock solid proof), just like such books would be now. So you divert from ONE book to the next, it only further discemminates the problem further.
Even funnier is the fact that many people can view the same event, and walk away with different opinions of what ACTUALLY happened. We do it everyday. People did it on 9-11. Jfk. Men and women do it each hour, practically. We do it here on the forums. TV shows. ON life, yet this little element KNOWN as perspective, never stops the forum trolls who degrade other's because they don't ascribe to THEIR viewpoint. Just because you spout off random facts, doesn't make them or you right, or better. Is it that important for you to be right, rather than be good or humane? Or shall we site how we're all selfish genes, products of evolution, and it's inborne to be of such a nature?
It seems all this crap has done more to DIVIDE humanity and provide excuses for people to act than anything. It appears as if people forget we have FREE WILL and CHOICE, about the only thing which makes us humane, but because we want to label people, or insult them, or find OURSELVES, we give that up each and everyday. They need to belong, to know, to be right, to alienate, to site, to ascribe to something, to have an identity, because internally they don't. It's only by reflection of the external world that people have identity, and before mirrors, nobody knew what they looked like outside of a reflection in a pool of water, which is nowhere near modern mirrors. So we just ditch our free will, and ascribe to other theories which seem to harm the mass of humanity, rather than help it.
Believers on either side of the fence would find they don't have free will, as their free will confines them to choices under the banner of their beliefs. Someone who's an evolutionist would choose based on choices under that banner, whereas someone who's religious would choice based on choices under that banner. Someone who's automatically republican, normally picks republican viewpoints, whereas a democrat would do the same. But they're not freely picking, because they have to BE SOMETHING, then pick something, it has to go through their filter first, and once it's normally they can't see other viewpoints, just like they can't see other cars once they've bought their own.
People who wrote that evolution rules over religion, won't see 'potential' in the other side, and vice versa, which is sad, because the ages of most of the posters are only about 1/4 of the way through life, and to affirm THIS is the way have confined themselves to one path.
People who wrote that 1 party is better than other, won't see the othersides, or they'll sqawk as if ONE side has a great right to SOMETHING than another. Isn't that coming down to it...that the idea, or group, has a great right to exist, to be in control than another? And when we wage war, we hollow out the element of PEOPLE holding weapons or bombs, and diminish them to just what they represent and believe, and when they dump that, we make peace? Seems like a real battle of the ego here, doesn't it? Since we're fighting phantom ideas, and not considering the people, which is more, humane. It seems like no one has really evolved, or exhibits free will, since we're still suckers and slaves to external or internal anomaly.
Yes...a wall of text. But don't state the obvious. Post or don't post. I write at length, just as I can talk at length.
