Chicks will only get a rise out of knowing they got to you by you being an assh0le to them. It makes them feel validated and important. You don't want to give them that power or ego boost so if you must cut some chicks out of your life simply slipping away and going no contact is for the best.
My advice advocates he consider and find out if he can get anything from these women of value first such as social proof, invites to parties, setting him up with a hot friend of theirs or whatever and if they prove to be worthless to such an end as one of these or something else he might find of value then and only then should he cut the "leeches" out of his life.
See I agree with you that leeches are bad for your health and need to be cut off from your blood supply before they suck the very life out of you but until he makes the evaluation that they are leeches with nothing more to offer him than syphoning off good things from him while offering him absolutely nothing in return well I just have to say until that determination is made your advice is flawed.
For this reason and the reason I gave about not wanting to reward a girl's lack of interest towards you with an AFC emotional assh0le angry outburst.
Your point about not needing chicks or even these particular chicks to be successful is a valid one as there can be a lot of benefit to completely starting a new as a DJ and standing on your own but at the same time the alternative is equally valid ie don't cut off a good potential resource or resources until you have deemed they are not resources at all.
