Why do girls look down?

When girls walk by me, they have certain tendencies.
From when our eyes meet until 3 feet away, they maintain eye contact. I get the interested vibe. WHICH IS VERY ACCURATE.
From 3 feet until passing, they look down. This happens with all girls i get the vibe from. Why is this so? any clues?

People tend to look down when they make eye contact with another person when they feel threatened as a form of submission. You're possibly staring into their eyes for too long and making it seem awkward. Every time I make eye contact I have the "James Bond" look where I have a grin and smile when it lasts longer than 2 seconds. Chances are they're going to smile too.

im tryin to work on the smile/grin...normally i catch girls lookin over but i never smile..even when i tell myself in advance to i never seem to be able to...hmmm i'll try smile and see what happens thanks

It's better than you being intimidated by them but I don't think it's still a good thing if they're intimidated by you. Nowadays I rarely have women look down; normally they either smile and look away, or just look away; they never look down.

Of course it's not a good thing. Actually it's a horrible thing. You can imagine what's going in someone's mind when they're intimidated.

There's a girl who looks straight at me in my poli sci class (or I think she does, maybe she's looking out the window behind me) from the other side of the room, I tend to only look at her to see what she's looking at, as most folks have the sense of "being watched". It kind of creeps me out because she never smiles or shows any emotion while she's doing this, and never says anything to me.

Actually I think it just means they're intimidated period. Back in high school I never really smiled when I looked at women, the majority of the time they looked down in submission and for the longest time I had this reputation of a guy who thought he was hard. Now I incorporate a smile/grin. I don't know what women think of me now, but let's say my success has skyrocketed since applying this.
