Okay, so recently I have been on some first/second dates where I have eye contact that lasts a little bit longer than normal... in other words I'm looking at her from a few feet awaywith bedroom eyes (and usually a naughty grin) thinking that I want to kiss her. She's looking back at me, and suddenly says something like...

"What?!"

or

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Or both.

They're usually smiling when they say this, but what the ****? This totally throws of my rhythm. I no longer feel the urge to kiss her at this point, and instinctively counter with something like "you looked at me first." It gets her laughing and gets her on the defensive but... it breaks the tension. I definitely can't kiss her at this point.

Not to mention, whenever this moment happens, there's a bit of physical distance between us, and there's no kino. I know that if I just stepped up to her, she'd probably get alarmed and pull away.

So is it normal for a girl to say something like this at a potential kiss close moment? Am I doing something wrong, or is this a **** test and I need to throw my balls on the line and just kiss her already?!

I have a feeling I just answered my own question.

OP, I think you're really dead-on. You are doing great until that response and you know how to get beyond it. You have to cross this line to improve your game.

hey sir shinra, i know that line. maybe i just handled the situation well or it may have been because i was feeling like i was on top of the world having 3 women actively pursuing me at the same time or lastly i had a few drinks one of the times it happened.

But how i approached the situation was a bit different and i got a kiss out of it.

hb:why are you looking at me like that? (smiling)

i was basically just dozing off staring at her and didn't notice.

AAA:Don't move, i think i see something. (i acted serious and had a serious face on)

HB: what do you see?
AAA: Hold on a second, don't move. (i lean in slowly toward her as if i'm looking at something. she doesn't dare move either because she think's i'm trying to get a bug or remove something in her hair that is stuck)
AAA:(*smooch* on the cheek and back off like it was nothing) Never mind, it was nothing.

After the laugh ended, we had this deep gaze and i just went in because she basically gave me the ok.
