I admit I was drunk and the thread was stupid "subtely saying you suck" :p but there are far worse threads out there...

I can poke fingers at many people on this board for making inane posts and stupider threads... mine get deleted for what?

JC insulted me immediately... he wasn't even commenting on my thread... just me, how distasteful is it of you to do that?

Whichever mod it was that has been deleting my threads please PM me.

Why are political threads closed, even in the Anything Else forum? The object of having a web site like this is to get people to communicate and debate. You are punishing people for an activity that should be making the site money. But does this site even make money? Why are there no ads? I would gladly trade banner ads for a web site that works all the time and where the mods do not arbitrarily delete and close threads.

I disagree

-debating politics, and religion is pointless. No one side is ever gona convince the other....
-I'm glad that there are no ads on this site. we get bombarded with comercials on tv, radio, every other site on the internat. You can't even walk down a street with out seeing some kind of advertising........to say the least: "i'm sick of it". I'm glad that there is at least one site that doesn't conform to the rest....
-this site would probably work even better is people didn't post as much stupid retarded sh1t that they do. If anything mods should be deleting even more threds and informing the people who start threads why it was closed. There is so much info on this site that it's starting to be repeated over and over again. Instead of looking in the bible and realizing what a "man" really is people post threads like "should i break up with my g/f". even if he does take the advice, it's just a quick fix. Not only that; what do we really know about the guy who posted the question and his chick. We take wild guesses on haw he should run his life just from 5 sentences that he wrote....

i completely agree. and i want to point out that the only good reason for closing/deleting a thread is if the thread is just an insult to somebody.

lol at the mods that say "this has already been discussed many times"... guess what? this is a "discussion forum"

Seriously, you can only discuss how long you can keep from masturbating only so many times....

who gives... if people don't want to see another thread like that, they can simply stay away from it... what's the problem with this? i've asked this question several times and so far i've never been given a satisfactory answer

or another option is to open a new forum inside the community which can be named "already discussed" where the mods could move all the masturbation, height, bulking, cutting and ljbf-related threads...

Because if you are too lazy to use the search feature... then you get what is coming to you.

In the same amount of time it would take to make your post, you could just as easily wade your way through posts with the search feature... that's what it's there for, but people are too lazy to use it.

Another thing... 'we' (the powers that be) have left political discussions open on a number of occasions, oftentimes, a lot longer than we should, and the same thing happens everytime... it slowly degenerates into personal attacks on why people believe what they do.

I'm sorry man, do not use this place (or anywhere else for that matter) to conduct yourself in a non-adult manner. If you can't do that, then leave. If you decide to stay, do not complain when 'we' delete something because people cannot handle themselves like adults.

Isn't your user name a personal attack upon Christians? Is that "acting like an adult?" Are you conducting yourself like an adult with your attack upon religion?

If discussing politics is banned, why not also ban discussions of religion and sports? Hell, delete all controversy. People should only be allowed to agree.

Hahahahaha...

My name sir, is short for Antichrist Superstar which happens to be an album from one of my favorite artist... which has more to do with the transformation of self and fascism that it does with religion, but thanks for asking. :)

The irony in all of that though, is how you automatically assumed I was attacking Christians... last time I checked, Christianity weren't the only religion in town sir. ;)

As for the rest of your question, things like religion are on the same lines as politics. We don't wantonly closed political threads... in fact, the threads on the political aftermath of Katrina, lasted a hell of a lot longer than they were supposed to, and religion works the same way... so long as it's handled in a decent manner, which for some reason, a lot of people can't do.

As for sports... if men can't handle that in a decent manner (at least) here, then we'll start deleting that **** too.

Christ is entitled "the Morning Star" (Rev. 22:16); so also is the Antichrist (Isa. 14:12).

Your user name is a sign of the Antichrist, yet you tell me not to offend people. What a hypocrite you are.
All right, let's try this again.

1. I know where they got it from, and it's not from there. Antichrist is merely a play on words, and as stated before has nothing to with religion, and everything to do with the discovery of self. It is becoming clear that I will not convince you otherwise, so let's just move on.

2. My user name is not a 'sign' of anything... after all, I cannot use a sign that belongs to a religion if I don't believe in religion to begin with. With all due respect, I have little problem in believing in some higher force, but have a hard time respecting people who make it their job to interpret the thoughts of a being that we're not supposed to be able to comprehend... so take that how you will.

3. I never told you not to offend anyone... actually... I never told you anything. You only came into this when you decided to attack my name of choice for whatever reason. Though I must say that your attack is a bit ironic because I'm sure the athetist, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Shamanist, etc. of this website could make the case that your name of choice Bible_Belt is just as offensive as mine is.

Hypocrite... my sentiments exactly.

Ciao...

your name of choice Bible_Belt is just as offensive as mine is.

You are doing the exact same thing as you accused me of doing, which is assuming my user name is a personal religious reference.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Belt

But anyway, worrying about who will be offended gets in the way of free expression.... which is the topic of this thread. You're the one being the sensitivity police by deleting political threads, "lest they become name-calling." I say 'let the boys be boys' because there will always be someone who is offended by just about anything, even a user name.

And how does this place make money if there are no ads? Who is paying for servers and bandwidth?

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.

The post I made was about an idea that I have been fielding on my own, the results are great but putting the cconcept on paper is the difficult part, I had to break it while I was drunk....

I posted it under discussion and one person responded with an insult. I got no discussion on the subject which was my goal of posting...

I could have easily within the 48 hours of posting edited my message if nobody understood and bumped it... there are old threads that I would like to go back over and flag for stacking if that would be more useful.

People post stupid threads out there that have been discussed before, they just can't find the EXACT discussion they are looking for since they don't have the right words for their predicament. If they knew the words, they wouldn't post, a moderator could handle the situation by moving the thread to an FAQ thread and directing through a PM towards a more appropriate thread for their answer.

Hahahaha...

Sir, if you're going to quote me, use the entire quote next time, which is as follows:

Though I must say that your attack is a bit ironic because I'm sure the athetist, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Shamanist, etc. of this website could make the case that your name of choice Bible_Belt is just as offensive as mine is.
It never came out of my mouth that your name offended me in anyway, or that it had some sort of religious meaning to you. You sent me religious links, and I responded in a religion based manner. Never once did I say that your user name had anything to do with any of that... let's not put things in my mouth that was never there to begin with.

Again with the being offended thing... I could give a **** who gets offended by what, which is the reason why I do this to begin with. As it goes, I tend to offended people more by closing/deleting threads than letting them simply bash each other to binary oblivion. Understand something... 'we' don't wantonly delete threads just because we get our jollies off of doing so... that's what women are for. ;)

I, or any of the other moderators, didn't ban religious or political discussions... Allen Thompson did. In spite of that, 'we' still let things slide from time to time. But when people get to the point where they are just trying to see who can insult each other better over the internet, it isn't about the original topic anymore... and that's why it gets deleted.

So, I'm not being the 'sensitivity police' sir, I don't care that much... but I am doing the job that someone put me in place to do.

Well... discussion is not my jurisdiction, so I can't tell you why your thread was deleted. Though I am hard pressed to think that it was because you were drunk. :)

I understand that they may not be able to find the exact thing that they are looking for, but let's get real, they would probably gain more from read 12 (or more) threads on their question or subject than they may gain from posting it and hoping to get replies.

All I'm saying is use more of the resources that are available to you it may help you more than you think.
