Ok, I know threads are being created at an alarming rate on this forum... ok,I'm just kidding but you get the point. So, I'm going to create in 2 in 1 thread.
The first thing I wanna know is if anyone has seen this proposal clip.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pnVAE91E7kM#at=354 what do you make of it? Very brilliant or AFCish or both

My 2nd things is OPRAH! I know many guys here hate Oprah with a passion (this is nothing new) For those who has seen any good in her show can you please share as to why. This is not supposed to be an Oprah worship thread neither is it supposed to be an Oprah bashing thread either. I just want to see the objective views (a part of me doesn't think she's as bad as she's been made out to be) So, who's gonna take a first stab at it?

I think the marriage proposal thing is brilliant. You know her girlfriends and lots of other women are envious. It's something she will never forget.

As for Oprah, I've only seen the show a few times so I don't really have an opinion on it either way. It's mostly a show geared for women.

I know it is geared towards women but is trying to get women to be more secure in themselves such a bad thing?

why yes it is, how else will you convince them to do A2M if they are all secure and shyt? LOL.

Seriously though, Oprah is chic porn. Emotional porn. Some girl on my FB today posted about how she cried so hard and felt so sad but then felt so happy for who ever was on Oprah yesterday. Oprah is very good at showing the pain and redemption, thus giving women a nice little emotional rollercoaster to ride on for an hour.

That proposal was disgusting.

Talk about putting your woman on a high pedestal from the get go. When this b1tch starts having babies and this guy is working his tail off at work, she is going to hit him with "you are not as romantic as you used too!”

Whenever a man attempts to recreate the sappy romantic moments he sees in chick flicks into his own life, he is going to fail.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a magic wand. Something that will make you almost completely irresistible to any woman you "point it" at. Something guaranteed to fill your life with love, romance, and excitement.

So, what's man to do since most chicks have this romantic mentality that they think should go along with proposals?
To the poster above you. So, is it BS when guys on here give each other advice on improving themselves? Listen I get your POV if you just want women to be sheep that men can abuse and use whenever they please. I think you were making a joke though, not sure.

Thanks for sharing this link. Although, I've not finished reading the whole thing I still think some of the ideas are still romantic. So, you see even the so called alphas believe in romance to a certain degree. Life is a give and take.
I do agree with you though that the guy's action could lead her to expecting more later.

Lol. You think you are SO "alpha". You think you're so outside the box. He asked what a man should do when he decided to propose and you linked him someone else's answer.

You're telling us that being alpha... is to listen to people who tell us what alpha is?

I make my own damn rules when it comes to be and my girl. If I want to be sweet or romantic or sappy, it's not because I have her on a goddamn pedestal, it's because I give a damn about my girl, and I want her to feel appreciated.

I don't need her to stay with me, and she knows it. She knows if something happens between us, I'll move on quickly. She's not on a pedestal, but I, personally, enjoy being sweet to her.

I'm not sweet when I don't feel like it. I'm not sweet when she doesn't deserve it. I'm not sweet to get anything in return. I'm sweet when I want to, because it's what I feel like doing at the moment. Nothing's better than spontaneity.

Man it's a proposal... can't it be romantic and over the top? I mean if you propose it's like valentine's+birthday times 100 combined. I think it would be ok to be a little wussy and show honest appreciation.

I mean if you propose then you've been together for a long time, and you've proven that you are super manly countless times already ;)
