As I get older..
It would be nice to have someone to come home to everynight..
Just saying.

I'm 28 I see myself settling down at about 32.
This sh*t is getting old. The whole process of approaching-date-bang-avoid.
Only reason 32, is because I'd like to do some traveliing first. Never left the country I want some foreign poon.

After that I could seriously see myself latching on to someone ..

Done it before. Could take it or leave it in the future based on the girl. Not something I'm dying for, put it that way.

This! No matter what anyone tells you. The difference between marriage and a committed LTR is nil. I suppose the difference would be medical benefits on your healthplan? Even that can be negated by "committed partner" benefits. Beneficiaries, hospital decisions, etc. can all be setup outside of a marriage.

However, if you have kids, I would say get married so the damn woman can't move them away from you.

If I meet the right one, sure. Haven't come across her yet though. Otherwise, being single is fine. Especially with all the bad marriages and horror stories you hear about

I personally would recommend against for many reasons but some go down this path. Just realize that one day all relationships end.

Very few end up married for 40-50 years anymore. I also think having kids puts more strain on the marriage--it doesn't FIX things like some think.

Courts rule BIG in favor of women so now you're on the hook for alimony AND child support AND now you only have one income to live on AND you've lost 50% of what you own including your house and retirement savings. All because "she" wasn't "happy." Yikes, no F'ing way.

Why push 50% of everything you own into the middle of the table and gamble you're not going to be one of the 60%+ that end up divorced? Marriage rates are declining for good reason. It takes two votes to get married but just one to end it. Strange and unfair, but true---and CO$TLY for most men. Women file for 80% of all divorces in the US.

Such a HUGE, B*ULL**** stigma attahced to people who don't marry. Ignorant as hell.

I've tried it every which way and the best scenario for me is to have a serious girlfriend that lives close by that I see 2-3 times a week. Things stay fresh and fun. You don't have the financial complications. She can stay at your house or go home. When you get tired of hanging out at her place, you tell her you have stuff to do and leave! You don't have to come home from work and listen to her biatch about her catty coworkers. You just show up for the good times.....dinner, sechs, fun trips, etc and don't have to worry about mundane married people crap. She takes care of her place, you take care of yours.

There won't be any other time a woman works harder to please you than when you are dating.

I agree with this completely. I'm on the same page.

I want to get married because I want the Government involved in my love life. I long again for the days when I'm chained to a chick that fvcking hates me because I will not submit to her emotional stupidity... and who gets her revenge by fvcking any dude with a hard-on. And then when you just can't take it anymore and want out of this FANTASTIC deal... you get half your sh!t and kids taken from you.

This can def happen without a doubt. I knew a guy happily married for 25 years and found his wife banging some young dude..lol It was ridiculous!! This is why I'd never get married, unless I found someone worth rolling the dice for. Simple as that

Ideally, I like the stability. Problem is it's usually not stable at all.
This.

Good friend of mine called me last night as he was driving around at 11pm. He went home to his (2nd) wife that he married 3 yrs ago. They got into "the" conversation of divorce, which he is all for at this point. They have very little in common and are just roommates. They agreed to separate. She will clean his clock financially but he is mentally done with the marriage.

Both married and single lifestyles have their perks. The illusion of stability is nice, but so is ghosting and monkey branching women when you get tired of them and the fun is over.

There would have to be 3 things in place for me to ever get married again:

1. Tremendous friendship/the important things in common with no issues on each other's lifestyle.
2. Insane sechs
3. She has to be financially stable.

Any of those 3 aren't there and they are short term plates only.

Yeah most of this is true. Banging hoes gets old and boring.

The problem with me is there is probably no one in this world I'm compatible with long term. If I do get married, its highly likely I will get divorced.

I will only marry when I know for a fact that I 100% believe in the vows that I will say at the ceremony. A girl who I genuinely intend to stay with till death, and who I will never hurt or betray will be who I choose. The girl will also have to feel the same way.

For me to feel that way about someone, we must have a profound connection, and incredible sexual chemistry. The person must also be fully loyal and trustworthy.

But how many girls are like that nowadays? Zero. Also, there is the problem with never truly knowing someone. You can live with someone for years and not truly know what goes on in their mind. That's why long term partners get shocked when their significant other goes and has an affair, or any other scandalous activity.

My reasons for wanting to marry is to have a partner in life. One that complements me as a person. This is despite me being a lone wolf type of character, because down the line I can definitely see myself getting fed up of being alone.

Me too. Divorce gets a bad reputation because of divorces involving custody and child support. When children are not part of the calculation, marriage is a completely different thing. States grant divorces more easily all the time. They just want your money for the small fees involved.

The general rule for marital assets is that in the event of divorce, you keep what you took into the marriage and you split the assets gained during marriage 50/50. It's simple and fair. On the downside, if you support a stay at home spouse for many years, alimony is probably the worst you can get screwed without kids being involved. Illinois recently passed a rather draconian alimony statute. At ten years of marriage, a formula kicks in that gives 1/3 to 1/2 of income to the non-working spouse, for a period of years. A 30 year marriage could result in 15 years of alimony, which is absurd. The more liberal your state politics are, the harsher the alimony statues tend to be.

My question to you is this..........what makes you think getting married is a solution to this at all? Marriages fail, many within 3 to 5 years. You could very easily get married and be RIGHT BACK out on the dating marketing approaching-dating-banging-avoiding within a couple of years anyway.

are we just a bunch of selfish women haters here or what?

No because I don't want to get screwed in divorce court, and I would get bored having sex with the same person.
Marriage is Like Nascar

men are the drivers
women are the cars
some men start with Fords
while others choose Ferraris

the car you start with
is never the car you end with

the body, the trim, the interior,
the suspension, the engine, the wheels,
every part of the car has been upgraded
and every part has been replaced
several. times. over.

some men try to win by buying cars at good prices
some men try to win by buying the fastest cars
some men try to win by buying lots of cars

in the end the only thing that matters is
maintenance
upgrades
team
and a prize worth working for
