I'm looking for real opinions. Not fairy tale answers such as "to make your pee pee larger" or "to attract fortune and fame and girls and bananas and turkey and toe nails". I've been experimenting with them for some time now and I'm having difficulty distinguishing it's effects with the effects of everything else in my life. But one things are for sure: They do not alter behavior and they do not permanently alter feelings. But have they effected my attitude? The way I see things? F!@#&* I'm confused. F@#&* S!@&*# Crap I spend about an hour a day on affirmations and if what I think (barely) they are doing they are not doing then there goes several hundred hours of my time!

I've only discovered about affirmations from the book "How to be an Alpha Male" by John Alexander two weeks ago and I've started doing them recently. I've noticed slight improvements to my personality and game. Although nothing significant and groundbreaking, the fact that it's progressively helping me mold out my attitude has been encouraging. The key is commitment and the willingness to believe in your own words.

I always thought affirmations were a joke, but that is only my opinion, and I can't disparage what works for other guys. They are not for me, though.

Affirmations get into your subconscious mind and help brainwash you in a positive way. But they compete with your regular thoughts. You must do affirmations AND make sure your thinking is consistent with what you are trying to affirm. Let's say you affirmed 5 times today "I'm extremely confident around women.". Then later on that day you got rejected and thought to yourself 6 times "I'm a nervous loser around women.". Those negative thoughts would cancel out any benefit the affirmations gave you. That's why it's so hard to break out of negativity.

As for that The Secret or Law of Attraction stuff, I think it's bs. Affirming "I have a meatball grinder" is not going to make one appear on my front porch. I still need to call for takeout before one gets delivered LOL.

Affirmations are useful, however AFFORmations are a hundred times more powerful. Instead of saying "I am excellent with women" you say "Why am I so excellent with women." Even if you're not, your brain looks for answers why this is the case, which occupies your subconscious, instead of it looking for reasons to reject the positive affirmation statement.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

Pretty much, and not only that but it takes a LONG TIME for affirmations to sink in. That's why you repeat them over and over and over.
