Exactly right, they retroactively label him a jerk because he rejected her. I bet when she first met him she was bragging to her friends "Oh, I met a guy, he's so nice". I'm sure she wasn't saying "Oh, I love him so much, he's a jerk". The guy gets labeled a jerk after it doesn't work out.
Kind of like how a guy decides a woman is a b!tch after she dumps him.
YES. I've been called really nice, a sweetheart, too good to be true, and all these positive, complimentary things during infatuation - when they couldn't get enough - then, when things didn't go their way, even after THEY broke up with me some months later - I was an *******, jerk, bastard, etc. Even for not being their back-up plan or doormat. Now I was the worst thing ever... mostly because THEY lost interest. And the same goes for when I did to them.
As well, when I wasn't interested at all - they'd call me a stuck up *******, and all these negative things. Even AFTER trying to use me for sex, treating me like ****, cheating on their SO, etc.
Just like with anyone else. If you aren't meeting someone's criteria, going against them (or those closest to them) in some way, not giving them what they want, are viewed as a threat, or they simply don't like you for whatever reason (including jealousy) - you're an *******, jerk, ugly, a loser, everything you do is wrong, nobody likes you; nothing but negativity towards you.
People are mostly ****. Either they like or hate you, depending on how you match up to their desires, and where they want you to be at any given time. :moon:
