Sadly, you can't stand out in a crowded bar the moment you walk in with your words and actions. Things would be a lot easier for us if that were the case. Personal style, particularly conspicuous style, can convey a lot of good things about you. I know you don't like fuzzy purple vests (not something I would wear), but surely you don't have a problem with a guy who dresses rockstar cool when he goes out? You're not advocating Dockers and a polo shirt, right?
i advocate the sophisticated, stylish rockstar look.

not retarded kid in a yellow vinyl coat look.

Yes, you can stand out the moment you walk into a crowded bar with just your B/L, actions and/or words, even in Dockers and a Polo.

And yes, I'm speaking from experience.

BTW, I went out on NYE in a black dress shirt and jeans and several people thought I was the owner/manager of the club/bar.

One guy was even convinced that I was "connected" like Tony Soprano

And all of that, without dressing up like some kind of fruit and without trying to achieve that effect.

It's just a by-product of being and looking confident, relaxed and in control.

Of having a "presence" without trying to have one.

Anyone can dress loudly and stand out from the crowd, but standing out from the crowd while dressing in an understated manner is far more effective.

And don't dress like a rockstar unless you actually are one, otherwise, you end up looking like a wannabe try-hard.

Again, too many people looking for a shortcut.

"Peacocking" does not make you anything more than what you already are.

When you went out in a black dress shirt and jeans, did you finish the night by having sex with a model you met that night? When you dress average, there's always going to be someone who is also dressed average but is taller, stronger, better looking, better hair, whatever. If you dress outlandishly, whether furry vest or rockstar style, you're not being compared to better looking guys wearing average stuff. It makes you stand out and puts you in a different class from average guys, that's all.

That said, it's hard to find peacocking clothes on the internet. You can find maybe one or two unique and cool items in each major city in the world; the key to getting good peacocking stuff is travelling. It doesn't have to be furry vests and New Rocks, either. For instance, I have silver shoes from London, gold shoes from Japan, cool jeans from Australia, an awesome jacket from France, etc etc. As Geoff puts it, wear the stuff everybody else wishes they could find.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Mighty defensive about dressing ordinary, Derek, eh?

I dress sharp (not clownish, mind you) because I like to.

But if you want to learn how to apply makeup and dress like a fag, Mystery has a new forum up:

http://www.mysterymethod.com/forum/index.php

Some guys there even promote acting Gay to get women.

BTW, I'm 45 and I routinely bang women 20 years younger than myself, without dressing up like some kind of fag, or wearing makeup, or being a routine-dependent entertainment monkey.

Again, anyone can dress flamboyantly and outlandishly.

That doesn't make you a DJ, or a PUA, but it does make you look like a tryhard wannabe.

I stand out from the crowd with my B/L, my words and my actions, not by wearing stuff purchased in a Gay clothing store.

Peacocking doesn't make you more than what you already are. But if you're already awesome, then it makes you stand out that much more. Nobody's claiming wearing this sh¡t automatically gets you laid, but it makes life that much easier if your internals are set up and you peacock to let everyone know that you're the man.
