Calling friends that is ok in AU, but don't try it on a stranger. They call us 'skips', so it's all ok amongst friends. Some English backpackers I met were absolutely horrified that anyone would say that - they reckon that to use that word in the UK would be the equivalent of a death wish. Can't say that I know it to be true first hand though.
Yep. Call a black man in England a 'wog' and you'll most likely end up with a slit throat. BTW it means Western Oriental Gentleman (ie a middle easterner/north african) and has nothing to do with golliwogs, but has come to mean a black man in England.

Similarly 'paki', which in Australia is just short for 'pakistani' is taboo in England, although some people from the Indian sub-continent jokingly use it to describe themselves, a white doing so would again result in him gaining an extra breathing hole.

Depends. Go to any provincial town and ask the Kappa-slappers drinking cider on park benches - you know, the ones using their prams as ashtrays. Or are you talking 'quality' UK women?:D :D

Well, being that london is so much more expensive and It's easier to get to, it looks like I'm going to hit up Sydney.
