People aren't doing this only for chicks, but to feel better too. If I am feeling depressed then no matter how many chicks I have I will still feel depr
That's some weird logic right there. I don't think I ever heard those two correlate with each other. If you feel depressed, go to the gym and read some self-help books or something. Again, looking for a magic pill.

Too much masturbation may increase prostate cancer risk.
Of course, "too much" is always bad.

This discussion with you is over from my part... I don't know how to explain my thoughts better. Sorry. Maybe someone else can try.

I'll try to explain. People always try to find a magic pill for something, especially in today's society where you can "lose 10 pounds a week without doing anything" and don't have to get your ass off the couch to even rent a movie anymore. This whole idea is the exact same thing. These guys think "I'll stop waxing my carrot and all will be fine eventually.". It just doesn't work that way. Life isn't easy like that.
The process of un-conditioning your body from excessive masturbation habits and porn takes MONTHS. Porn is literally like visual heroin. And the idea isn't "Don't masturbate and you'll instantly get chicks". The idea is "Don't masturbate, work on all aspects of your life, refrain from porn, and have lots and lots of sex."

And spare me the whole testosterone and endorphines bullsh*t. It's a cute story, but I don't buy it. There are countless of examples out there that show the exact opposite. I'm getting on a side-track here, but that's another big problem. You guys put way too much thought into this instead of actually taking control of your life and start to do something about it. Who do you think has a better chance of getting laid? The guy who didn't jerk off for 120 days but doesn't approach girls, or the guy who jerks off almost every day and approaches girls left and right?
There has been a studie done on testosterone levels after several days of refraining from ejaculation, and they have consistently found that testosterone levels peak between days six and seven. But you do have the right idea, but it seems your thinking does not seem to be flexible: the guy who has the best chance of getting laid is the one who doesn't jerk off for 120 days AND approaches girls left and right. Chances are great that he won't even have to wait anywhere near 120 days if he has the other areas of his life handled. Another study was done on an individual where they gave hima chemical that supressed dopamine, and he exhibited traits similar to those of habitual porn users.

Again, I'm not saying you should monkey around and jerk off 3 times a day, but there's nothing wrong with it if you keep it under control. It's just like drinking, with the difference that it doesn't cost any money. Not jerking off for weeks or even months is just plain ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if it will lower your testosterone eventually because you don't seem to need it anyway. That's how our body works, think about it. It tries to be efficient and not to waste energy on stuff you don't use. That's why you get weaker if you stop working out.
It doesn't cost any money, but again, it can be like taking heroin. The endorphines that are released are very addictive, and they are free and easy to get. Heroin junkies will dart into a Denny's bathroom to get their fix, willing to use the dirty water in the toilet. What's the difference between him and the guy in the stall next to him is also getting his fix, except he's willing to rub one out in the privacy of the men's room.

Be honest with yourself and try to find the real issue you're struggling with. This goofy theory has never really helped anyone. Like I said before: life isn't easy that way. And if you need to stop jerking off for a month to get motivated to walk up to girls, maybe you don't want it enough in the first place.

Stop making weak horse-sh*t excuses like this and get the f*ck out of your house and walk up to some chicks..., you goddamn wussies. Don't call me an ass-hole because I'm trying to help, and deep down you guys know I'm right.
This is really good advice, but it doesn't take anywhere near one month to get the motivation you need. More like a week or so. And the whole concept is anything BUT a "magic pill". Magic pills promise INSTANT results. What we're talking about here is a nerurological re-wiring of the brain, which takes a MINIMUM of one month to break down the habit, and another month to get a new one ingrained, followed by diligent maintenance of the habit and avoidance of relapse.

On a final note, you have some great advice, but you need to look at the issue from the perspective of someone who isn't as far ahead as you. Find my thread on how I used to be a "halo nerd who looked at porn" to see what I mean. Some people just aren't aware of the issue. I'm in the process of writing an eBook on this topic that I am confident will help guys out.

I stopped masturbating when I read this discussion, just to see the effect. I never did it very much (maybe 3x/week), but figured I would try it out. Within just 2 weeks, I started feeling better. My mind was clearer, I felt more comfortable with myself, I had better workouts, etc.

That newly energized feeling wore off after some time, and I started to wonder if these were just temporary results.

Until I had sex. I have a current FB, that is my first since my LTR ended. I was nervous as hell the first time that my stamina would be horrible. I didn't last very long in bed around the time my LTR ended (maybe 6-10 min), which was also the peak of my porn/masturbation (more like 5-6x/week).

I have now been with this FB 5 times in the last 2 weeks, and I have lasted 35-80 minutes in those times. I get harder, it feels better, and I perform much better! I am extremely confident that cutting out masturbation is the main cause of this. I honestly feel that this discussion significantly improved my life. Thanks guys!!

Excessive masturbation is bad. But to not do it at all doesn't make much sense really. Do whatever feels right, with everything in life (and no, 3 times a day isn't "right").

There has been a studie done on testosterone levels after several days of refraining from ejaculation, and they have consistently found that testosterone levels peak between days six and seven. Again, you're using porn junkies and porn addicts here as examples. Of course they **** up their chances and their life. But that's the guys who are out of control.

Testosterone works different for everyone. I know for a fact it never really affected me because I tried everything in the book when I was still climbing up the ladder.

And again, if you need to stop jerking off for a week to get motivated to walk up to girls, you got some other sh*t to figure out about yourself.

That's a ridiculous comparison. Heroin, really? And what kind of ****ing degenerate jerks off in a public bathroom? That's out of control sh*t, not an average guy.

Look, if are in control of your life, you can control something like this without abstaining for months and weeks and **** like that. Just don't do it too much and give yourself a weekly limit of 3 or 4 times or something, whatever. Too much thinking involved, too many theories. Be man, handle your sh*t without making things more complicated than they are. Girls do that for us already.

Well thank you. I think I see where the difference lies in our thoughts though. I see this masturbation thing as something irrelevant, assuming it's under control. Mind you that I also said a million times that this chronic jerking off and porn watching can't be good. Keep it under control, improve your life on the area's it needs to be improved, and you'll be fine.

You really can't compare it to heroin, because heroin will always lead to bad news and has a realistic chance of actually killing you. Rather compare it to a good glass of red wine. A glass every now and then is actually good for your health, but a bottle every day will ruin everything eventually.

Moderation good
Excess bad

Yeah, I have been using them as examples. But I often find that many don't realize that they may have a problem if they can't go on week without porn and masturbating. Would you agree?

Can you elaborate on how it works different for everyone? That's interesting.

Once again, you may be right about there being other problems for you to work out if you need to abstain from jerking off, can you offer some possible suggestions (this is to help both myself and other readers).

Heroin, really. Porn is considered by some to be visual heroin. I have a direct quote on video from some doctor who said that on a BBC TV show, I can find it if you would like.

And there was another TV show about two guys that masturbated compulsively, one guy would start getting very irritated and anxious if he didn't do it every few hours. Yes, it's an extreme case WAY out there and not your average guy, but I personally think that some guys may end up going towards that path if there isn't any intervention from either articles or spirited discussions like the one we're having. And yes, it's a TV show, so they needed to find the most extreme cases for entertainment purposes.

I didn't quote the rest of your post because it was mostly pretty spot-on. Those who may have a serious issue with this need professional help.

Eh, I dunno. Sure I could go without for a week no problem. But why would I do that? If I feel like it, I do it, and it's great. Afterwards I still totally feel like flirting and walking up to girls and ****. It doesn't affect my state at all really.

If you're obsessed with it, then you know something's wrong. Same with compulsive porn watching.

Can you elaborate on how it works different for everyone? That's interesting.
Well, I dunno. It's just one of those things where things work different for everyone. After a workout, I usually feel a little bit different, but nothing extreme. Some guys get super pumped up after that. When I listen to a song I really like, it puts me way more in the zone than working out, for example. Sometimes when I barely slept, I'm way sharper and aggressive than when I had a good night sleep. Jerking off or not jerking off never really created a huge difference for me and it should be the same way for every healthy young guy.

One thing that really affected me was when I started smoking a year ago. Glad I stopped that bull****. Biggest noticeable difference for me.

Once again, you may be right about there being other problems for you to work out if you need to abstain from jerking off, can you offer some possible suggestions (this is to help both myself and other readers).
Read my "Super tips" thing. Especially the first post.

Look, I tried this abstaining thing too, believe it or not. I tried tons of sh*t because it drove me insane I couldn't get laid. But I only started improving once I got my sh*t figured out. Once I did, I was like: "Oh my god, I tried all this crazy **** for all these months, while all I had to do was figuring out what makes me tick and where the roots of my problems were." All the 'pickup' tricks and moves and routines all suddenly seemed ridiculous and I just became my confident self which worked out great for me. That's all you need, and that's huge.

If you think jerking off ruins your chances, I feel you're not giving yourself enough credit.

No link needed, I believe you.

Yea those are really extreme cases. That sounds more like OCD, with the guy getting anxious and ****. But not jerking off for months is also extreme. It's unnatural and weird.

Guys who are having a serious problem like being obsessed should get some help from a shrink. Because by completely abstaining, you're replacing one extreme with another.

sounds like a crock to me. Makes no difference at all, whether or not I masturbate or watch porn.
