I was just thinking... is the Dj Bible a work in progress, or is it a complete work with nothing left to add?

I started thinking about this, as I was looking through the Bible posts, and comparing them to some of the tips that can be found as of late... in the past, people would recommend Bible posts... something that has all but dissappeared... I would recommend some of the tips that I've seen as Bible worthy, but doubt that it would even be implemented.

IMHO, there is no way that the BIBLE is a complete work. There are always more things to add, things to change, some posts that could be replaced with better equivalent ideas.

What would have to happen to be able to 'rework', or re-create the bible with the assistance of the recent group of members... then there could be a return to the discussions of 'What is a DJ?'. As well, at least temporarily, there wouldn't be any "Go read the Bible" posts... I think it could help the overall level of camaradship found on this site, maybe bring it back to it's former glory?

What are your opinions on this?

------------
This issue is important enough that it deserves to be debated thoroughly... so don't hold back.

The bible is definitly a work in progress, however, the information that is inside it now is essential for any guy who wants to succeed in the dating world.

I think there will always be new methods coming out as how to better DJ women. Especially with the balance of power between men and women changing.

One could argue that the "DJ Bible" could be rewritten by someone with professional writting skills as opposed to the amateur styles that most articles were written.

The one major opinion I have on the Bible is that people who post stuff because they're BLATANTLY trying to get into the Bible should NOT get in. Stuff should go in there because it's truly worthy or a unique thought, not just a re-hash of everything that's already in there.

Over the years, I have noticed this too. ALthough, I'm not a master so to speak, I've found the quality of the tips, advice and ideas have gone down hill. Which is why I don't post or log on often anymore.

The bible will only get better when there are better ideas to add than the previous ones!

This will take time but it's enevitable as we all progress.

BTW- Every "Go read the bible" reply I've seen, has been
great advice!! Usually to guys who post -"I asked to kiss her and she said no!"

One day, we will return to the time where there were more posts on the discussion forum regarding living the life rather than how the Bible needs to be professionally written / completely ravamped / have an associated test.

Do you know how long it took to "professionally" rewrite the 10% of the bible included in the Boot Camp? A WEEK! I'm guessing, about 20 hours worth of solid work. If you're willing to do forty standard work hours each week without pay and simply for graditude, for five straight weeks, then be my guest!

I do notice when people are blatantly trying to get into the bible. I also recognise plaguraism. Bible maintenance is actually a full time job if you want to get it perfect but its also volunteer work. I do it because I am greatful to people like Allen and the hordes of great advisors on this forum who gave and give ME advice when I needed it. This is why the bible is free, and this is why everything I have done, INCLUDING THE EBOOK, is completely free.

The Bible is a 90% complete collection of posts that are actually worth something to those who read it, rather than them coming across the "I have this one special girl, and it isn't one-itis, its completely different!" posts.

I never say "Go read the bible" because so many others manage to do it before me. I DO recommend the Boot Camp book - its a foundation for DJs AND it even goes into incredibly advanced stuff. Truthfully, if you complete all eight weeks, you'll be a master. This is why I consider very highly of Walden. Walden has been here for a much shorter time than me, but he's done a lot more for personal growth than even I have.

I'm not exactly clear on what you mean, but I'm taking it as meaning, "Returning to a time where the discussions more revolve around living the life of a DJ, rather then b!tching about the bible." It wasn't my intent to b!itch about the bible, I think that it is a great piece of work, and I commend you for putting so much time into it, and converting it to PDF... among the other things that you have done.

I guess my complaint is more along the lines of the strict definition of what is bible worthy material... Ganted, there will be a lot more 're-hashing' of information, but as long as there isn't any blatant plagerism I don't see any problems, and plagerism could/would be weeded out and discarded for what it is... and, yes, I am guilty of writing 1 or 2 articles that I felt were worthy of the bible (just as I'm sure most anyone whose been on the site for a while has probably done the same), but the reason isn't as malicious as has been made to appear, I would like to see an article that I wrote appear in the bible out of my wanting to help people improve themselves (Despite that I am not nearly a master, but do have enough experience on my belt to have a worthy input), and my writings will best be able to help people where it can consistantly be read.

You are right, the Boot Camp is ESSENTIAL for all the newbies... I honestly haven't completed it (I made it to week 3), but the part of the boot camp that I did do made the greatest difference in my life, more then any other single aspect of the forum.

Then you would also have to ask yourself; While Pook was writing his famous "Kill That Desperation", was he trying to get his name into the bible for the recognition, or was he doing it for the mere satisfaction of knowing that his input was going to have a drastic effect on at least one other persons life?

I say, it is well worth the effort to continue to re-write the same material in your own words, in the hopes that there will be a spark of creativity that will lead to the completely new perspectives that make for the truly bible worthy articles. Despite that most of the people that frequent the forums lack the eloquence or the will to create something of that nature.

The Bible was created after Pook made this post, so I doubt Pook made a post to go into the Bible!

I don't add many new articles to the Bible. Just the occasional one or two.
