InLawsHateMe, I have to commend you. You are probably one of very few on this discussion board who actually understands what it means to be a real man.

While many here question and object to what you want to get out of life, you have stood true to your position. Your goals are your goals, and you readily pursue what makes you happiest in life. It's just a shame that you could not get your message across to those who would rather try to offend you and push their own ideals upon you instead of trying to understand another person's perspective towards living life to its fullest - and accepting that it is their own choice to make.

Being a real man is like being a leader. Any woman that chooses to be with you (or gets rewarded with your company, if you'd prefer to phrase it so) naturally expects that you, the man, are going to lead the way for her. Men have always been the ones who make the approaches, set up the dates, make all the right moves and guide the relationship/couple/pairing in a way that he sees to be the best. Any guy that is too afraid to accept his role as the leader of whatever relationship he has between him and his woman will always be the follower, the chump, and the inferior male specimen - and will find himself completely alone, more often than not.

To those of you that have complained at the way InLawsHateMe has acted, I would implore you to deeply consider why you are attacking his point of view. Anyone that has found happiness in his own life would surely understand that there is more than one road to get to happiness, and that there is no point complaining about it if you wouldn't do so personally. If it isn't hurting anybody or anything, why should you force someone else to conform to your own standards?

To those of you who have yet to reach contentment within your own lives, I simply ask you to focus more upon yourselves, and reaching your own ideals before you question what someone else has done.

Finally, InLawsHateMe, I doubt I can add much to the advice already given to you. Simply knowing that you have to firmly (but not aggressively) assert authority over a woman that "acts up" against you occasionally is enough knowledge to keep the peace. Women genuinely hate thinking that a man they are attracted to is obviously offended by their 'excessively incorrect' actions (and has not done anything to warrant those actions). This is one way that so-called "Jerks" are able to maintain superiority over Nice Guys in the dating field, and it is also the reason why your girl felt that she had to apologise to you for "being a b!tch", just recently.
