There's no set law for how the word "dude" is used.

Dude, it's a word. I'm frightened you actually created a thread b/c of it. Chill! ;)

are you serious? Come on man, stop over analyzing everything. Just live in the moment and don't go home after chatting to a chick and psyche yourself out of stuff just because of some trifling little thing. Calm down and enjoy, man! :)

If a women calls you 'dude' what she means is 'dud'. Women are use to dealing with things the long way around and hence tend to use long forms contrary to men who keep it short and simple and use short forms.

That should take care your mind for a couple of days..

hold it melon, just kiddin.

You essentially upped your VALUE in her eyes by showing her that, if she wants you, she has to at times do things that you like to do. You are SOMETHING after all. You are NOT FREE. If she wants to hang with you, it's going to cost her something — time, effort, money.

definitely don't want a woman calling me cute intead of hot. Are there any woman that might call their guy friend dude that she finds attractive or is there not a chance.

I find that if a woman calls you dude your just a friend or their a bit tomboyish?

No need to take offense if a girl calls you dude...

It shows she is

a) comfortable around you
b) in touch with her masculine side

I read somewhere that girls calling guys "dude" is the equalivant of guys calling girls "babe" , not sure how accurate that statement is...but go with it.

Ive been called "dude" several times by girls and I think its more because they are comfortable talking to me...

I would , however, in your case and in general rather have the girl say "hey babe" or "hey sexy" . I get that alot , but sometimes a girl may say "dude" try not to over analyze it... rather analyze the other things about her ,

Her interest level for starters?

I live in California...I call everybody "Dude". No insult intended or taken. Sounds better than "Hey YOU!"

agreed, I call my guy friends dude

b) in touch with her masculine side
lol..um, I guess.. I mean my guy friends treat me like how they would treat their male friends..

honestly you "might" be reading to much into it, some girls use the word "dude" out of habit.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.
