I have to say, the most cringe-worthy thing I've seen is when men try to pay for a woman's meal, when they are out in a group a friends, and not a date.

Ever witnessed this? Talk about the most awkward thing for a woman to deal with, right? They do absolutely refuse though.

I'm like "Dude, just get her number and ask her out to dinner."

I would be seriously afraid to hire a guy that thinks like that in my company.

You've seen this more than once?? It seems unheard of. It's obviously a terrible form of supplication combined with poor taste regarding colleagues. Even if she liked him that would blow it in two ways.

Regarding being generous, the position you want to be in as a man is the girl is propositioning you, and you are playing hardball.

Example:
Her: "I miss you".
You (don't write back).
Her: "Did I say something wrong?"
You "Of course not".
Her: "I want to see you".
You: "Enough to braid your hair?"
Her: "Ok! (hearts)".

This way you get the maximum possible interest level from her because she has to work for it.

This requires that she is pursuing you. Oh, that. This is the exact opposite of what some members feel men with money do. I've never asked a girl if I could pay for sex in my life. It would be the weakest possible position.

If a girl at work liked you she would email you privately and tell you her cell phone.

I have never heard of something like this. It reeks of desperation.

I've witnessed a guy pay for every girl at the table. No joke.

He's also probably worse with women than any guy I know.

Yeah, that's retarded. I know what he was thinking though. He was thinking he was being a gentleman. Without considering how the females look at it. They are free-riders and will take free lunch and dinner all day long.

I'm shocked you're not in support of paying for her meal.

Why's that?
He is basically doing something against common sense which is morally wrong, ineffective, makes a fool of himself and gives a bad idea to someone.

Imagine the same approach used to solve a professional problem or how easily such person could be manipulated and taken advantage of...all of this while he himself defends the offender.
