Hello thechamp,

I think you're being too harsh. Maybe it's just me, but being the alpha male isn't just about being more aggressive than his boyfriend or whoever. I think it's about finding a balance between "rage" and being able to overcome the others in intelligence.

I would have said something funny, like, "let's test your boyfriend then", which will make her curious about you, because she will be doing something "prohibited" and will not make her think you are being extremely aggresive.

That's when the game is over, she told you she's not interested, basically. Anything besides a graceful exit at this point will only make you look inexperienced.

My go-to response - all credit to Vulpine - is simply "That's a shame", and then you can just peace out.

If she's saying she's taken, she's not interested (and the girls who do it to "test" you and see if you'll keep going are probably the game-y attention ***** type, which you likely don't want to hang out with anyway). No harm done, just let her go with the same bounce in your step with which you approached her.

Yes what you said was too aplha.

Anyways, I don't understand why some folks think that's a **** test. IMO it isn't.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

The best way to deal with the mention of a boyfriend is to completely ignore the statement. Until she tells you no. Then say something like "He's a lucky guy." She'll usually thank you then you walk away.... let her wonder what could have been.
