I dated a smoker for a while. It was around the time I found this site and was going through a really hard time. We didn't get very far.
We met up a few months back and made out before I dropped her home. Babysitter was waiting. Lol. She's an excellent kisser and I don't know how she did it but she hid the cigarette taste very well. I don't recall noticing it.
Not to put her on a pedestal but she is someone I could see myself in a long term relationship with if she didn't smoke. (Yes I know this goes against the single mom rule). She has a lot of strong men in her family and they're all very close. I met her father once and he seemed to like me. He's a really good man.
The smoking is a deal breaker for me though (plus her entire family smokes). I've been getting my health in order over the last few years and her habit wouldn't make a good fit.
Last time we chatted she did mention she was trying to quit though.

Won't date a chick who smokes. My last GF smoked, but told me she was quitting. Months and months went by she still smoked. Gave her and ultimatum, ciggs or me. She supposedly quit, but later found a bag of mouth wash and toothpaste in her car. She lied to me so many times about it, I later found out she never quit, she was a damn good liar and turned out to be a BPD. From my experience, women who smoke are not relationship material.

A couple of smokes a day is ok , but a pack a day, shows no restraint.
If a girl smokes, that's a big turn off for me. I do like hookah and cigars every once in awhile so if they did that, I wouldnt care. However, I wouldn't date anyone long term that smoked on a consistent basis and I dont care how hot they are.

I used to be bothered by that sort of thing because it's gross and terrible for her health, but recently I've decided to be more practical
her health in 20 years is not your concern. and ciggarettes aren't so unhealthy that they'd do anything major in a short period of time, so it doesn't matter if she's destined to die at 50 from lung cancer, unless she's 45(or more realistically, 49) right now that's not gonna be your problem.
however I'd still prefer a non-smoker unless the rumors are true that smokers are easier.
