What's with sports??

Hey, ive noticed alot of major posts in the bible saying that you have to play sports to maintain a good reputation and/or have a life. I think thats total b/s. Some of the most popular guys in my school dont do jack shIIt but go to school and smoke weed and they dont play sports, or have a life for that matter. I think it's a little bit overrated because ive also seen total jackasses go into football and not gain one ounce more of respect from it. I could see how it could increase some level of reputation but I don't think it's mandatory.

i dont know about you but i play basketball regualarly and also when im frustrated and stressed, about woman or what ever.

after playing basketball. i feel like i can do anything.

Sports is majorly overrated.

Unless you really like the game then dont play it just because you think its the DJ thing to do. Take something else up...

play sports if you enjoy it. if you dont enjoy sports then lift.
pretty simple. As long as you exercise, you'll feel good about yourself, and thats what really matters.

Sports are an outlet and an easy way to meet people. If you're confident, they'll get you exposure so others can see your confidence. If you're not confident, maybe they'll help you acheive that. But they won't give you everything automatically.

I'm one of the ones that just comes to school and smokes weed... And I'm probably the best known person at my school. There are few cooler things than meeting someone new at school and having them say "nope, I don't know you. But I've heard your name..." It's great.

Since I have been in high school I have lifted wieghts, played football, or wrestled. Yes it does make you feel like your the sh!t, (well if feel like that all the time anyway) and it makes you more socialy open. Well I decided not to play anything this year(my senior year and all I want to do is chill and get the Fvck out) Yeah I miss it, and me being 6'1 and 260(around avg. hieght in my school) something people just expect me to play sports, but I decided to just chill out get a job, and work on studying and trying to meet women. I mean I haven't been ousted by my teamates or some of the coaches(head coach hates my guts btw) but I haven't noticed any loss of friends or being socialy shut out.
further note, I suggest you guys lift weight, man after a hard workout, the endrophins feel so good, I say why take drugs, when you can work yourself into a high.

I love football and so I play it. I want to get better at football so I join the weightlifting team.

That's why I play sports.

yeah but if it doesent cost you anything then it cost the school money , then that money might take away from cleaning or computers, AIR CONDITIONING what ever that makes school a cool place to learn in, right?

I have to agree with Rawkin. Sports usually get funded way more then other departments at schools.

I am not for taking away sports. But I think all departments should be funded equally. If it isn't enough money, then the sport/teams will need to get funding from somewhere else.

At my school, you need a 'card' that costs $40 to play. And then, added costs for equipment, sometimes uniforms, etc... gay heh.

sports are no overrated at all. to be a dj, is to have the mindset of one. doing sports = excercising and getting fitter. people post saying that you should do sports is so that you can feel have something to be proud of. Being on a school team is something to be proud of. Knowing that you are on a team and that you are on something that half the school is not on gives you alittle more confidence when you walk around.
