Simple question. I don't mean something ancient like an authentic Civil War rifle, I mean something from YOUR lifetime or even childhood.

My oldest thing I still have, as embarrassing as it is, is a 13 year Fisher Price toy chest that I use to store all my old video games. (Don't worry no girl has ever seen it)

The only thing I really found interesting about it is when I first got it, I just learned how to write, and I wrote my name on it. My handwriting's almost identical to this day :D

So what's your oldest item?

A cardboard children's book that I loved to death. It has been left out in the rain, has been taped back together, and some of the pages have mould spots on them. I just can't bring myself to throw it away.

The book is called "Playful Pvssy" :)

A stuffed animal my parents got me when I was just born. It's somewhere in the attic, and I'm not about to throw it away.

My mistake. From my lifetime, in my direct possession, I have a 50-year perpetual calendar that started in 1980.

For my first Christmas (I was 3 months old) I got a stuffed Santa Claus doll with a music box inside when you wind it up. It plays "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". I still have it, 46 years later.

I've got a chest full of football cards and comic books that I collected as a kid. Some of them are nearly 20 years old. i've thought about going on Ebay and selling them all, but haven't.

I also have an NES and about 15 old NES games like the original Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, and Zelda.

I forgot about this story: When I was in high school, me and my friends had this game to steal each others lighters. I had this pink one, and I wrote my name on in with nail polish (wow, that sounds gay, but its not!) I think I was 16 or so. Anyway, I lost the lighter somewhere along the way. A few years ago, my mom stumbled on that very same lighter and sent it to me. It still works. So, thats over 15 years for a bic lighter.

My 1982 Curtis Mathis TV. My parents bought it new when I was 6 and our old one broke while I was watching Scooby-Doo. It just never quit. Nowadays it picks up cell phone signals sometimes.

The amazing new feature it had was a wireless remote control:

I am assuming that television technology peaked at this moment, and I have not paid much attention to it since. New remote controls are way too small. I want a giant brick like that one. It's hard to lose.

Babe Ruth's jockstrap. Or so my daddy claims. He also promised me that I would be a pro athlete. Still waiting for that one to come true.

A Roman coin, then a silver coin from the reign of King Robert the Bruce and a formidable door latch unearthed from just under the remains of the main door of the tower at a ruined a sixteenth century castle.

Well I have a violin from my childhood violin lessons that's 400+, so it's either from when I was 12, or further back depending on how you look at it.

i have an 8 year old valentines day card from my niece where she spelled my name wrong because she wrote my brothers name. sounds corny but she felt like a little sister to me/daughter. i took care of her everyday since my cousin was always busy/dating she lived in my house with my grandmother. My brother sister were rarely home since they always went over friends houses and when they were home they just ignored her.

sadly although i loved her as a kid my other niece her half sister i only give her half the time of day i used to give my other niece. I think i've already juiced myself out with dealing with kids. they are cute but VERY time consuming.
