Well somewhat motivated by another thread that got closed, I think this would be a good idea.

All we hear everyday in the news is bad stuff happening. Terrorists this, terrorists that, bombings, suicides, murders, rapes, kidnappings, shootings, robbery, drugs, gangs and on and on. You get the picture.

Not to get off topic but we all know most media sources push negativity as a scare-tactic to get the masses of sheep to fear anything but living a confined, strict life. Most people go to their 9 to 5 job come home and don't do **** to change anything. But they keeping wishing things were different. Wishing won't do any good, feeling guilty or unhappy won't do good. If you really care about some issue, DO something about it.

So my point is, there's no point in dwelling on bad news if you're only dwelling on it and not taking any action. Let's dwell on some good news. Let's find out all the wonderful things that are happening in the world. YOu may not think so, but there's tons of great stuff going on, and lots of people ARE actually happy right now.

Let's not make this political so that it doesn't get closed. So just pull a headline, something you cna read and know that life really is darn good. It will make you feel good too, I betcha. Remember to link the article if you can. Or just give us some good news about your own life if nothing else.

I'll start off.

Today Google announced that their 'hometown' of Mountain View Calif. will have free internet access throughout. Yea, they're going to give the whole town free, high-speed internet access! google says they did it to give back to their community. I bet the 72,000 people living there are really happy! That would be awesome.

Be happy :D

I guess you guys just don't get it. I wasn't asking for what sells, I was asking for people here to start noticing that the world is a great place and that it's not just all about negativity.

Oh well I guess i'm too good for this place anyway most of you don't get what I'm saying half the time.

edit: what can I expect when this is apparently a forum helping guys with relationship and dating issues and you have guys on the front discussion board contemplating whether or not they're gay. I think I've had enough, and I'm not exactly sure how some guys stick around from registering so many years before??

You want some good news? I'm leaving, and you can continue on hopelessly. I hope I was of some help to some. Most of you are hopeless.

Thanks to the guys who helped me with my breakup. I'm still getting over it but I think I'm doing alright now.

good luck to all. be happy.

lol The way you learn to stay here for a while is by ignoring the crap thats posted. The only forum I look at anymore is this one and occasionally H&F. The other forums are so full of crap its not worth wading through. Read the bible, then hit the field, THEN come and question or give advice.

You know i think I'm going to make myself the forum ass-hole for a day and just go ranting. Because I think it's going to help release some steam. Besides it'll be fun and I know what Im talking about.

Well today I was on the bus, this kid wanted to get on but he didn't have enough money, then this girl from my class goes over and gives him enough money to buy a ticket. Oh and she's cute, so we're going out for drinks on the weekend ;)

Another time, this old dude with a million shopping bags is trying to cross the highway, but he's going a bit slow, and the light changes and a million cars are honking at him. Then this young guy comes up and helps the old dude with his shopping bags.

Yeah this kinda stuff isn't exactly newsworthy, but if everyone made that 1% effort to be a little nicer to each other...

you know, I really am shocked by the news these days.

every single time I go to any news website all I hear about are the terrible things. That is all that any news source reports on on the front page, and it's really very depressing.

anyway, great thread. I hope it sticks around.

I too am gettin fedup with the goverment propaganda crap. Trying to force us into a nice life of consumerism and fear. I wish there was some underground society going on that I could join...lead...and change things once and for all...

One day...

Which part of Good News do you guys fail to understand? Lets move away from the negativity (that includes anti-government rants) and start posting some positive news.

Friday night I was on the train, when this kid drops his lollypop. Some patrol cops are on the train at this time, and when they see it, one of the cops pulls out a mint and gives it to the kid. Nothing special, but hey, its nice to see stuff like this.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
